Regardless, I’m booked at the Ashton now in FW and can’t wait to see everyone.
Ft. Worthless, oops, I mean Ft. Worth is not too far from me. I just might have to head west in October.
The Expo always seemed too far away when I was in So cal. Fort Worth is a piece of Cake now that I am just east of Dallas.
Actually, while disappointed, I am somewhat miffed. I recently purchased a First Class airline ticket to Nashville wanting to attend the Expo in style!! Need to cancel my Margaritaville Hotel reservations, Hertz reservations and cancel plans with friends I was meeting up with. I think a lot of USCCA members knew this Expo was “too good to be true” during this so called pandemic. I think some of rolled the dice and lost. Oh well. At this point, I can not commit to Texas… family, office etc…
That will be nice if USCCA would consider live streaming from October’s seminars. Even paid.
At least people who planned April and couldn’t attend October would be somehow satisfied.
@moderators ? Any chance?
There are all sorts of possible offerings being discussed right now. Not sure what will happen - but watch the website!
The updates for date/location on the website should be up by EOD tomorrow. Other announcements will be made as the information becomes available.
Ugh! Flying in style! I’m so bummed for you, @HZK! Fingers crossed that you can attend in TX. Most airlines are great about changing flight reservations during this very bizarre time we’re living in.
Free Elite Membership for Nashville attendees…
I’m highly irritated at the cancellation of the Concealed Carry Expo. It was to be held in Nashville in April. Being in Memphis, I’m not far away. I had bought tickets to several of the seminars and was looking forward to it. Now it’s been moved to October in Texas (until they cancel it altogether in August or September). I’m done getting my hopes up and buying tickets to events. Every single thing that I had planned on attending over the last year has been cancelled or postponed indefinitely. I am now gonna just accept the fact that large scale conventions, expos, concerts, festivals and the like are a thing of the past and will no longer be a part of our lives.
The ninja convention last month was supposedly cancelled, too, but no one really knows whether anyone came.
@John557, we wanted to have the Expo in Nashville, however, due to current restrictions, there was no we would have been able to have the Expo with everyone in attendance.
It appears that Fort Worth will allow us to have the Expo without those restrictions.
We would have loved to have the Expo the way we planned it, but it just didn’t work out that way.
I still have no confidence that the expo will happen at all. However, if it does then how about some sort of virtual attendance option? I had bought tickets to the active shooter and intruder awareness seminars. Would still like to take part in these, even if it’s not in person.
Drury will only give me credit for another stay somewhere else with my $819. So basically use it or lose it.
With all the mask BS still going on we really don’t want to go anywhere. They only gave us a small window of time for use as well.
Well, all I have to do is roll out of bed to go. I just put it on my calendar. Maybe I can go with my wife or son. How much are the tickets?
I just registered. I’ll get my wife registered too and sign her up for a class. I still don’t know what I want.
Count me out. Nashville is only 90 minutes drive from home; Ft. Worth is 12 hrs+ and not somewhere I’ve ever really thought about visiting.
I’m getting too old for this s**t.
Stock Yard is nice
Thanks for mentioning this. I looked it up a couple of days ago, and it was still showing the Nashville dates, with no way to register.
Just registered too. Hopefully, come October, we’ll still be legally allowed to own & carry.
I had also made my hotel reservation at Drury Nashville. Drury told me that they made my reservation but never took my funds. They said they would only have withdrawn the funds upon my actual arriving, and staying, but not a day sooner. Since I had booked at Drury via the USCCA discount code, Drury canceled my reservation, and I did not have to pay any fee at all.
About the Pandemic: If it were to be held in TN in April, I would have loved to have gone; but it turns out, that if I went, upon my own return home to my region, I may have been required by local Pandemic policy, to test negative again for Covid 19, before re-entering, and self-quarantining for 14 days, before being able to go back to work even. I wonder if others throughout the U.S. had similar rules restricting their ability to travel, and or if even Nashville health authorities contributed to the decision to postpone the venue. By Oct. 2021, more of us will have been vaccinated, and hopefully, there will be less restrictions, making for a better turn out.
Best regards friends.
I wonder how the Covid shutdown will affect the show in October. Biden just said we may not get back to normal until next Christmas.
I see everyone’s frustration with this event being postponed again.
My wife and I are in the hospitality industry and have had 95% of our customers postpone, 5% cancelled. Of the 95% postponing, about 30% of those postponed twice now. Needless to say they HATE having to postpone and WE HATE them postponing. Our revenue in 2020 was down 37%.
This has awarded us to have a great amount of empathy for our customers and at the same time other businesses. The Expo being , cancelled and now postponed, I’m sure was the only viable business decision that could be made. Factors that I can only image which affected their decision; vendors cancelling, venue capacity restrictions, liability insurance cancellation/caps, venue workshop restrictions, attendee cancellations, lodging unavailability, speaker availability, food/catering challenges, event venue staffing, Delta Defense staffing, airline travel restrictions, local regulations, permitting,
With this all said, do you really think Delta postponed this for fun, heck no. It hurts. They aren’t going to put on a show with few vendors, empty stalls, rooms with no Speakers, and people bitching that “… this sucks, and we paid how much for this crappy expo…”
On a personal note, my experience with the Drury Inn, this is our policy at work, no refunds but we will make an exception and let you reschedule (for free). I don’t want to find some other vacation place to use my $800 booking but like our business, if we had to refund everyone, we’d be bankrupt.
