This is about me and my background. Really? I’m not the guy going to jail for failing to “think” and consider the circumstances before relying on his “shoot fast, everything’s a threat that could kill 'ya” mall ninja mindset. As a result of his actions: (1) he will impoverish his family with legal fees and likely civil penalties; (2) he won’t be there for his family 'cause he will be in jail; and, (3) he will likely lose the right to possess a firearm as a convicted criminal and the right to vote, and probably be excluded from all sorts of employment as employers don’t like hiring criminals.
Not the result that anyone would consider protecting themselves or their family. The result could have been much different if “thinking” was involved before acting. I hope you might draw a lesson from this, but people are generally resistant to learning from others’ experiences.
Why, why would you be beating or worse, deploying a chemical weapon (forbidden in a war!) against two harmless young men. Do you think a phone is a deadly weapon? Perhaps the 2 kids are just friendly and want to say hi, perhaps they are gay and found the delivery driver cute, is that any reason to hate?
The commentary on the video is spot on, “hands–waist-posture”. Just grow a friggin pair of eyes on the back of your head to watch over the 2nd guy, and make sure there is no 3rd. Easy advice.

That was my expectation… because you were negating guy’s thinking.
All 3 results of the action may happen to anyone acting in self defense these days. If you want all of us to think about consequences of shooting that will end up with leaving firearm at home and using fists or pepper spray… which actually is not a bad idea… but not every person is the same.
I this particular situation he didn’t found other option. Do we know his fighting skills? No. Do we know his medical conditions, what he can do, what he cannot do? No. Do we know his level of fear? No.
I’m guessing each of us would handle this differently - some of us will shoot, some of us will pepper spray, maybe drop the bag and fight… or perhaps just get over it and walk away… we never know.

Is or was he a USCCA member with basic coverage or elected and paid for more expanded coverage,
If he is not either type of policy holder, no insurance company voluntarily provides coverage to non policy holders.
If he is a USCCA member? Is there a privacy issue that has not made that public?
And, if he is a member, does his specifics in this case qualify for coverage or are any exclusions to coverage
All I can do is speculate without knowing anymore.
Does anyone know if he is even a member?
These questions have been addressed in this thread. He is a verified member who chose a public defender and last we saw has a private appeals attorney paid for by USCCA member benefits.
There is no basic coverage vs expanded coverage in this context, all USCCA members have the same insurance benefits
