On Thursday, April 22, 2021 the Illinois House Judiciary Committee passed two antigun bills out of committee. They are on Second reading in the Illinois House of Representatives. We are asking all members to call their Representative and ask them to oppose these bills:
HB1091 HFA#1. This is what this bill does.
-
Makes fingerprints MANDATORY for FOID Cards
-
Bans the private sale of firearms.
-
Requires all firearm sales and transfers go though an FFL. Very expensive.
-
Limits to $10 the cost of a transfer. Which is below the dealers cost.
-
Raises the cost of an initial FOID Card by 1400% and subsequent 5 year renewals by 300%.
HB1092 HFA#1. Here is what this bill does:
-
Expands the definition of who can get a Firearms Restraining Order (FRO).
-
Requires the seizure of all firearms, firearm parts, and ammunition.
-
Creates a Firearm Restraining Order Commission which has no representation from Pro Second Amendment groups.
We ask all members to call their State Representative and ask them to oppose these bills. Clickhere to find your State Representative. These bill could come up at anytime. Call right away. Pass this alert along to all those you know.
