I like the Walther P22, too. Good size, comfortable, accurate, easy takedown, affordable. Picked up a brand new one for a steal; crushed orchid isn’t popular, I guess. The only issue is the bloody spring during reassembly. I swear Walther did that for giggles.
Replaced the guide rod with a captured spring rod and much happier.

22LR pistols are only as good as the ammo you fire. That said I have found my GSG 1911 22 LR to be reliable with all higher power rounds that I feed it. Sure some misfires, more often with cheap ammo.
I also have good luck with my Ruger LCP light in 22LR bits must use good ammo. The LCP is a nice size for a pocket pistol.
Once again the quality of the ammo is important.

For those that are true .22 pistol lovers, if you haven’t yet do yourself a favor and find an old Colt Woodsman or Huntsman and buy it!!!

They are the standard by which I judge all other .22 pistols. I have a mint (with the original box) 1950s Colt Huntsman that I don’t shoot very often anymore because every time I do it makes me cry
. Because I find it so sad that American manufacturers can not/will not make guns like those ever again.

When you rack the slide it feels like it rides on ball bearings, and it’s a one hole shooter with anything I feed her. And in old Colt blue steel (a process that is now lost to history with the old craftsmen that worked under the dome) and her, at the time, futuristic and ergonomic lines it is one of the most beautiful classic guns I own.
