My Mark III is awesome.
When my wife and I started our firearms journey, one of the first pistols we bought was the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 5.5in. A great piece for intro to the semi-auto world, in my opinion. Easy to operate, handle, maintain and inexpensive ammo availability. I would recommend it to anyone.
I just love my Bersa Thunder .22!
Welcome Scott!
Welcome to the community!
Ooooohhh! I might have to look into one of those alongside a G44
Looks nice, good price and made in the USA. I will need to look into that one.
Upon further research, unlike the rest of the FN lineup, the .22LR version is made in Germany.
M110 calico, its super cool and the massive mag is pretty nice but for the memes if nothing else.
Yup, the DE denotes Deutschland.
The more I look at this on video reviews, the more I want one!
Umarex? I have several replica airguns made by Umarex!
Donāt get me wrong, theyāre damned nice guns!
Itās just the first place my mind went seeing that name!
Yeah, that didnāt make sense to me. I was on the FN site and clicked on the FN 502. Further research shows that Umarex manufactures it in Germany for FN.
There are lots of ways to go with this.
What do you want to use it for?
Paper punching?
Small game hunting?
Defense?
Putting down livestock?
Low-cost rimfire training understudy for a centerfire?
Indoctrinating newbies?
Ruger MK4 is my only current semiautomatic .22. Love it been a great gun!
Way stupid easier than the MK3 to break down and clean
its operation is different from the majority of other handguns, in that it effectively has a bolt not a slideā¦.
So good for basics like sight picture and trigger control,ā¦ but not so much for teaching common operational movements and controls with a handgun.
Thatās my personal experience
That said, i am considering another semiautomatic .22 so staying interested in this thread.
Iāve liked the .22 Ruger pistol/semi, LCP 2; and using CCI Stinger 22 LR 32 Grain; the casings seemed very smooth and remained so, clean even after much time in storage. For extra spare mags, I stuck with the Ruger brand for compatibility.
For me, one down side, is compared to other models, the chamber in the Ruger LCP II, seems like a deep dark cave, and one really needs to be conscious if there is a round in the chamber or not. Not sure why that is, might be due to the shape of the parts. Aside from that, what a comfortable product.
