By having a record of an identification number, an owner may have a better chance of recovery of a lost or stolen firearm.
The government has no legitimate interest in there being identifying marks or a record of ownership of firearms or any other weapons.

It’s not about “privacy”, which is what a number of search engines advertise.
I put in a search for “Nancy Pelosi” for example. On my phone, I get 10 results per page. To see a foxnews.com article (one of the most popular sites for news) I have to drill down to the 76th entry, whereas

I find start SEEMS to be neither left nor right… and I agree not about privacy so much as more choices…
that seem to be more middle or even right… try it you may like it… beats google all to…
I was using duckduckgo but they signed on with google… so…
startpage seems to be less lefty by a lot…

Sorry I was not clear. The above results WERE using Start. Google is even worse. Duck Duck Go seems to use Google, but hides your search a little. I currently use it because I like their “Clear all tabs and data” feature, which will get you out of jams if a page hijacks your phone’s usability.
