Bobbygene, did you ever hear of the military unofficial attache unit? I’LL BE VERY CLEAR, I WAS NOT IN THAT UNIT, I THINK IT WAS A RUMOR. Not sure when it was established, (maybe early 70s). The brigadier general that headed it in 1980, at one time was the PA pentagon officer. I know it lasted at least till 1989 or so. It operated mostly to solve little problems, with 'soft" targets and provide answers and cover-up little hiccups,(or other little dirty jobs), that might cause some VIP 5 seconds of embarrassment. The units members records reflected being assigned places they never were and not where they really were, Fake temporary promotions and fake administrative demotions. Stuff like changing a soldier’s sex, rank, assignments,(records)so they could not be traced or connected to some isolated incidents.. But also assignments, out of uniform, that were not official assignments. Basically, assignments were handwritten notes (that don’t exist) from one general to another or Colonel’s or LTCs, pertaining to a civilian VIP. Assignments were crappy, butt wiping, being a rat at times. Example: this one VIP(high stress job)relaxed by painting nude female models. So the Unofficial attache was provided everything needed to go pick up 2 model’s from the de-si-re agency and return them the next day. But also sometimes to provide extra security that was outside of official security on the fringes of the perimeter.

Love Bobby Jean and Debbie Ann Twofeathers. Amen
Total respect for anyone who can admit it. I’ve seen it happen to soldiers and civilians. All the chaos, destruction, death, can be addictive. Fortunately, it did not get me. Well maybe a little bit. I still love burnt gunpowder, muzzle blast, recoil, bullets hitting or (missing the target, more often these days). Paper targets and plastic bottles. Age and medical problems have taken their toll.
I’m not angry about anything anymore. Oh, I have a moment now and then, very few specific instances. Pretty rare. Avoidance and being alert to surroundings. Of course, I screw up, as I’m more imperfect than most people. Strange, since I straightened out my life, the last 30 years or so, I haven’t been shot at, hahaha
. only had a couple of times, of being threatened by people displaying guns. In the past, the outcome would have been a lot different. I did make a complaint in one instance, but Arkansas law enforcement declined to follow through. The other one, was an in-law, in North Carolina, an off duty policeman, I rubbed the wrong way at a small family gathering, which I left immediately,so let it go.
I’ve driven thru there a few times in The summer. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Don’t want anything to do with the winters there.
i once went on a day trip to Carson Valley, Oct. 24th, enjoying autumn leaves
A week later, Visit Carson posted on Facebook the valley covered in snow. ![]()
Wow! Terrible winters there. Used to love snowmobiling, hunting in the snow, using snowshoes, even camping in a tent in it. Alaska, MT ,ID, WA. still got 2 pr. Snowshoes. Not anymore. Love this desert heat. I guess I could try snowshoes in the sand?
The winters aren’t bad unless you go up to Truckee, Tahoe City, Incline Village, or South Shore.
The great thing is there can be a blizzard in the valleys then 5 hours later it is pretty much all gone.
Unfortunately it’s in California. Love some of the geography. Don’t like the concrete jungle along I-5. Don’t like the laws. Lived in a few places in California. Visited several times, had a uncle, sister, daughter and granddaughter live there. Washington is another state I try to stay out of.
Yes Sir, of course. That other driver who accosted you on the other hand, he was angry. I’m motivated to install my video camera on my car, but sometimes worry bout theft.
I did install the dash cam. We can only do we can do to keep people from stealing. It is still their responsibility and they are the ones committing the crimes. I belong to a worldwide organization of 9 million brothers and sisters. At our meetings sisters routinely leave their purses to keep their seat when they take a break. We have conventions, sometimes several thousand people. Same thing. Their purses remain untouched. Nobody advises them to do that. Even at huge conventions, there is no police presence. There is no hired security. We have parking lot attendants to help people park. We have attendants to help people get seated inside. These are all volunteer. I couldn’t believe the first convention I attended of about 3,000 people. coming and going was organized and orderly. No honking, no cussing, no problems. Inside, when the speaker talked, It was so quiet You could have heard a pen drop. No incidents of any kind. honesty and respect is possible. Self-discipline is possible. I never saw anything like it, not even in the military with large groups of people.
Thanks for sharing your experience and for the analysis. Road rage is a perplexing phenomenon. My late brother once got arrested for doing similar things, after an old driver cut him off. My reaction was basically, “Was it worth it, getting handcuffed, jailed, paying a lawyer and upsetting/embarrassing your family, just so you could act out against some hapless senior citizen?” I’ll never understand it.
Sorry for the loss of your brother.
Thank you. Very thoughtful of you.
You did right try h to avoid him, however, this could have escalated into a bad scene. True to this nutcase following you the best case is to avoid contact with him, dial 911 and go to the police station. If you are a senior citizen like me and this idiot wants to attack me I would use lethal force against him.
Yeah. My mind says go, my body says no. Besides my age, got some pretty serious medical problems. Avoidance is paramount. Most of my life, I grew up handling most of my personal problems myself, meeting them, head-on. It isn’t pride, simply a way of life. It’s like a trained reflex, but I’ve realized I need to change for alota good reasons. Aside from 911 medical calls, my personal experiences with 911 law enforcement has not been that great. I totally support and respect law enforcement. But. Obviously, just like most people, I wasn’t having a very good day or law enforcement wouldn’t have been involved in the first place. Aside from a few small misdemeanors, I’ve never been convicted of any serious crimes. But I have been, “roughed up”, a few times, totally unnecessarily. A few times, officers reached absolutely wrong conclusions, later corrected, but I still suffered consequences. I wound up spending time in jail simply cuz I didn’t have the resources to bond out. One example was when a estranged wife decided to ambush me at my residence and took a shot at me. The calvary (I didn’t call, somebody else did), arrived and saved the maiden in distress, arresting me. I’ve spent at least a total of 4 months in jail in my life,(different, times and things), charges were dropped and never went to court. I’m not claiming I was just a poor, victim of circumstances. I’m more imperfect than most people. I’ve made alota wrong, bad decisions in my life. I’ve paid the consequences. I know everything that can go wrong WILL go wrong.

Debbie Ann called her family who is DPS!! A gave all the information so Hopefully they check his oil . Just stay safe and never forget a little car in Defense less against the Large car. With a Jake Brake no place to go. On the same stretch of road we have had at least two fatalities with two Different Tractor trailers in the span of two weeks my Little car won’t go faster then 90 down hill he went faster than slowed down flashin his Lights and Blown his Horn. Seriously mental. Take care Love Bobby Jean and Debbie Ann Twofeathers.
I had a similar incident in Canada years ago, (78), on the Alcan. I was in a van w/wife and kids going about 10 mph under the speed limit. Just before dark. Guy in a semi behind me started blowing his horn & flashing lights. He passed me & Pulling back over in front of me, tried to sideswipe me with his empty flatbed trailer. he ran me off the road into the ditch. Almost lost control, but came back outa the ditch ok. Got close enough to get his truck info but the he stopped at the top a hill in the road. Jumped outa his truck with a Hugh tire tool. I kinda lost it, got outa my van with my 12 ga. Started walking toward him. (I’ll leave the cussing out). He got back in his truck and high balled it down the grade. Next town was over 150 mi. Away. Turned it in to the mounties next town and again at Canada/Alaska border. but nothing ever came of it. Overall, My experiences with truck drivers has mostly been Great.
