Good advice.
Be aware, CB channel 9, while still officially the emergency channel, is basically unmonitored for such and is essentially useless now. It’s become the default channel for Mexican operators with overpowered radios running skip, and it’s jammed up all over the southern US, if not the whole US, with Spanish blather. In an emergency, try mayday calls on 11, 19, or 28. 11 and 28 tend to be used a bit by hobbyists and someone may hear you.
In any case, unless you’re on an interstate, CB is unlikely to be of use anymore in an emergency unless you’re communicating with someone you already knew had a radio and was on the same channel.
Wasted use of gun rights
Hopefully nothing like this happens again. I definitely will be more careful driving now. I will try not to do anything to cause somebody to have road rage against me.The reason I went home is because I thought I had lost the bad guy. That was a few months ago, and nothing else has occurred related to that incident.I realize too, that I am way overconfident in my ability to handle whatever situations come my way.
Thanks Don for your reply. That is great advice
Hey Brother it’s advice…I don’t know how great it is! ![]()
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE MY BROTHER!
Hey Don, thank you as well. Being brothers in arms reaches to infinity. I wasn’t that great at being a soldier. Sometimes I got outside of regulations and policies. Of course there was a price to pay. Have a great day my brother
You too man, Peace be with you My Good Sir.
Honestly, I was never a ‘Soldier’ per say ( Enlisting, shaved head and Boot camp). I back doored myself through an ‘Agency’ who hired me as a Bodyguard for a Two Star General (extremely unusual circumstances). I just happened to fall in with a great buncha GRUNTS who accepted me as one of their own, Trained me up (I took the OATH with THEM!) and the rest they say is history. ![]()

I try also, but it seems like today people are set off so easily.
People’s road rage these days are crazy. Please remember its planting time watch out for equipment, we cant stop on a dime. That goes for semis too. People these things dont stop well and are slow taking off and tractors r juat slow. Be patient we will get over for you guys. Please dont tailgate the semis. We cant see you if your on our butt. Had a guy yesterday pass me on the right side of the road as I was turning a big 535 tractor and cultivating tool. I swung left to make the drive and luckily I seen that lil red truck or he prob would have died or been crushed by the 6ft tall floatation tires.
I’m glad you’re alright Charles. Thanks for posting because it’s a lot easier thinking about what could/should have been done, once you hear the story. Maybe it’s better, If you let a nut-job like that, get in front of you and to stay behind them? That way you can possibly turn off after they passed exit, side street, etc. that you can use for an escape where they can’t easily turn around to catch-up or follow.
Hopefully it will never happen again. But each situation is unique to itself.
You Are right. The area I live in, although a population of only about 100,000 people, is integrated with agriculture. Very common to see huge machinery on the roads around the outskirts, Even some areas within the city limits. A military base is located here too There is a huge amount of truck (semis) activity also. Patience is a key element to survival.
Yeah it seems like it doesn’t take too much to set people off these days. It’s like they’re driving around really upset about something. I realize it’s a minority of drivers, actually though. I think There is more people driving while they’re under the influence of something and are impaired. I definitely don’t have any right to throw any stones; I was an active alcoholic until I was about 45 or so. Alcohol is a drug. So glad I quit drinking years ago. But; I’m not against drinking alcohol. I’m just one of those people that can’t handle it correctly. Of course, there’s legal marijuana, some places, and a whole lot of other illegal drugs everywhere. I’ve lost two sons and two grandchildren to drug OD. During my lifetime, I’ve lost several friends to illegal drug abuse and including alcohol abuse. Although, they did not OD, drugs were a contributing factor for sure.

!! Yeah, but that’s in my past. So glad I changed a lot from my younger days of about 35 years ago. I got kind of spiritual and started studying the Bible a lot. I am more at peace and a lot calmer these days.

Hey, a shaved head and boot camo don’t make a soldier. It’s what’s inside, that counts, resulting in physical actions taken, within a person’s capabilities.
I’m not a military soldier anymore. But I sure do still love the smell of burnt gunpowder. Always loved guns and hunting. The only thing I kill these days are paper targets,(plastic bottles occasionally). Got kinda spiritual about 26 years ago. Started intensely studying the Bible. Now I belong to a worldwide brotherhood of about 9 million Bible students. I serve Almighty God thru his Son. Jesus, the Christ. I’ve changed alot in the last 26 years. I will avoid harming anyone in any way, if humanly possible. But reality check! I changed But the world did not. So. My old .45 Colt got to heavy. I like Revolvers, so I replaced my .45 with 3, .357mag. revolvers. 1 off body in my sling bag. 1 on my waist, 1 in a shoulder holster. No speed loaders though. When I go exploring in the desert or woods, my main open carry revolver is a S&W Governor with Handloads of 4 .357 balls in a .444 marlin case(replacing the.410 case). If I’m in bear country, I hot load .454 cases, trimmed back to ..45 Colt, with 250gr. Solids. those .45 Colt loads are Equivalent to .44mag. And I’ve field tested them on a charging black bear, not to big though, about 250lbs.
