Hanks belts
+1 on Hanks belts. I have three of them, two for work (a black and brown 1.25" for dress pants) and one 1.5’ for normal jeans wear. They are all steel core and they do an amazing job making a 1911 commander feel like its not even there.
Bigfoot Belts. I have tried a LOT of leather gun belts, this one so far is the best for me. I am trying a new belt from a member of another forum, so far it is doing good as well.
I got the 18oz Bigfoot with steel core. https://gunbelts.com/gun-belt-1-5-wide-leather-with-core-18-oz
I looked at hanks belts and im ordering one nex weekend thank youbfor all of your input!
I just ordered a Kore X6 Black gun belt. I’ve been wanting to try one and these just came back in stock.
Hey brother I never had a Kore but have heard some good reviews about it. I have a 511 and it suits me fine and it’s comfortable.
And that could be considered as your mistake… ![]()
Anyway - most gun belts described here are great… but every Kore’s owner knows which one is the GREATEST ![]()
I just thought I’d update with my current belt. I have (all leather and 1.5") a Hank’s gun belt , a Galco , a Kore, and now a Ciguera Gear Emissary Belt (Scuba webbing). Although I really like the Kore, I wanted something with a traditional buckle that was understated, something that I could wear in the dirt and mud, out to a fast food restaurant with jeans, strong, and black to blend in with my holster’s clips (for IWB).
I have to say that I like it a lot. It is very, very stiff vertically, not stiff at all horizontally, weighs a lot less than my leather belts, it’s thinner than the thick leather gun belts, and the buckle is lower profile. Although I do miss the adjustablility of the Kore, this belt will be one of my primary belts for the foreseeable future.
Just some other notes… The brass buckle is supposed to reduce issues with compasses. The newer version has metal eyelet reinforcements. The belt was, from my understanding, designed with input from “Garand Thumb.” I’ll include a picture from the website and a video by GT below:
I just ordered a Hanks belt as my old 70’s Hippy craft fair belt is worn out.
These belts are super comfortable and very sturdy
