I carry a few different Houge Sig Sauer Auto’s.
Love them every bit as my Benchmades!
Here’s one with a modified Wharnecliffe blade.
I also have a spear point that has Houge G10 grips in the Sig Legion Finish to match my Sig Legion p220. The spear point pictured is a two tone handled model, not the actual color I own (same knife though).
@Mark90 those look cool. Tell me about the reasons for the squared off blade?
Welcome to the group!
Thank you very much for the welcome!!!
I could try to explain, but I found an article that gives you very good in depth information into the Wharnecliffe style blade. Notice I mentioned mine is called a modified Wharnecliffe style blade as the standard style is straight and doesn’t have that upturned angle. They are quickly becoming one of the most popular blades today since people are finally becoming aware of them. They are similar to a Sheeps Foot blade except they have a very sharp piercing point while Sheeps Foots are designed to mitigate that problem, especially for Sailors on an unsteady deck. They do everything perfectly except for skinning an animal. They are a perfect all around EDC knife if you’re not planning on skinning any animals.
Here’s that link to that very good article:
Hope that helps! I know a place that has one left at the moment at 44% off (if you’re allowed to own automatics in your state). If you’re interested DM me and I’ll let you know where.
Cool, I’ll go read up!
My go everywhere EDC is a folder, Zero Tolerance 0095 TANBLK in S90V. Sometimes when out late at night walking the dog I’ll also carry a fixed blade.
My CRKT USCCA knife of course! Ok, not really, the wings make it tough for EDC. I have a no name knife for my pocket. a Knife for each car and my bicycle. The USCCA is in my gun bag.
@Mark90 - you’re a terrible influence! Now I want one of them!
Welcome to the Community!
I carry a ZT (Zero Tolerance) finger-flipper with a 4 1/2" blade, and a CRKT Cobia with a 2 1/2" blade. You got to have at least one for each hand, especially if you are ambidextrous. Due to my employment, firearms are banned, even from your vehicle (not a public lot), not that I would store one in my vehicle unattended anyway (always safest on one’s person). Also, a good, small, tactical flashlight comes in handy more often than you would imagine, that is, until you start carrying it.
Yes, those are “cool” looking handguns. I handled one a couple years ago at a gun show. I didn’t like the way the trigger guard was cutting into my middle finger, so immediately became disinterested in it. One of those handguns were used in the movie series Hunger Games.
Yes, in the UK, folding knives with locking blades are illegal in public. I, too, believe that is stupid, because, as you stated, small knives are safer for the user with a locking blade. However, that basically turns it into a fixed blade under their laws and fixed blades are illegal in public in the UK.
Ok, that is one of the dumber things I’ve heard… the Brits are ok with an unsafe tool and forcing that lack of safety to be the standard? SMH
Kershaw Zing.
Benchmade 710 and Victorinox Cadet
@DaveH I had to look that one up:
do you have the Stainless grip? how do you like having an all-metal grip?
Welcome to the group!
BENCHMADE!!!, Made in the USA; maybe a little pricey, But what price do you put on your life? Besides, Benchmade knifes have a lifetime guarantee.
Welcome @George35
I find the ones I end up buying are mostly benchmade knives. They seem to fit my hand the way I like.
Yes, it has a stainless steel grip and I like it. Kershaw makes some great knives and it is worth checking out their line of EDCs.
I carry the Emerson tactical w/Keyshaw blade I got from Primary Arms. Great knife I’ve boughten several as gifts!
Got me a new Benchmade Automatic 9555 Rift the other day! Damn I love Benchmade!!! I hate having the collecting bug though… I put another on lay away as I can’t find it anywhere else.
Benchmade actually discontinued over 80 models in 2019, a lot tried and true models. A lot of classics are sold out now and you can’t buy them from authorized dealers anymore. Find them while you can through them…
