This probably was posted many times, but I’m gonna start a new one. I’m curious about what you guys are carrying and why.
My main carry is a 9mm. But on my CA license, I have two 9mm, two .40S&W and one 10mm.
9 and 45.
My NV permit only states ‘handgun’.
My Utah permit says
“Concealed Firearm Permit”
In IL it says ‘Soon to be Banned’
9 mm is my choice. Why? Maybe because I was born in Europe?
9 mm has been tested and confirmed as carrying enough energy for stopping the thread. Additionally I can carry 10 rds in single stack magazine.
Nope, it’s still going, might want to switch to 40 S&W
I’m not using S&W anymore. Why would I go with .40 S&W ammo?
Because it Surely Works.
Yeah, CA license makes you spell the pistols you can carry. I also have a AZ license that doesn’t. I was curious about what others do carry.
But to be honest, when you start shooting at someone, I’d doubt that they pause and wonder if they are being shot with a 9mm, 10mm, .40, .45, .357 sig etc.
They usually scatter or try to get cover.
@Jerzees
I was also born and raised in Europe.
Since I’m wasn’t born in Europe, I carry .355 caliber and .45acp.
A 9mm 80% of the time, 38spcl 10% of the time and 380 10% of the time.
not in Staccato…
So that is definitely the reason your main carry is 9 mm.
Maybe staccato is too close-minded?
9mm or .45 personally.
A buddy opts for .22wmr (little American arms 5 shot revolver, with a “wallet” holster)
While another friend daily carries an FN 5.7 and 2 spare 25 round magazines…. (Yep, 76 rounds!)
I feel so sorry for you… I cannot imagine the pain when you need to recalculate those calibers to proper metric sizes.
Nope, everything else would make it jam.

I’m a gun ho. I like everything between .22 and 20mm
