Any scholars out there? I believe in studying constantly to gain insight from those that have more experience than I do, which means attending training classes whenever my budget permits it, and reading. I’d like to find out what shooting/firearms-training books people are reading, and what their opinions are of them.
Currently, I am reading “Handgun Combatives” by Dave Spaulding. And the man has TONS of good info to share!
The last training book I read was a mindset book.

Next up: Defend Yourself by Rob Pincus
Hey Zee, I am currently listening to that book on Audible, Rob Pincus narrates it too!!!
So far, so good!
Excellent! Its in my audiobook app also… that’s how I get most of my “reading” done… while I drive.
NICE!!! Good move!
Taking a break from how to win friends and influence people to read the gift of fear.
@Brian1- I’m listening to it on Audible during my commutes to and from work. It’s well-worth your time!
It’s on my shortlist for audible! Might come up this month.
Just finished a first reading of Emergency First Aid Fundamentals by Michael Martin, but now I want to go through it again for a better understanding, and to reinforce.
I have that one too - it’s on my Reading List.
I’ve just started Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Level 1. Have to get through that one and Level 2 before July!
Well not actually reading, (listening to), “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg, (almost finished), and “How to talk to a Liberal” by Ann Coulter. I want to understand the Liberal mind set. The information in these books is scary because it suggests that America is already is a Socialist state where the last Liberal road block is the 2nd amendment.
Just finished the entire suite of Sherlock Holmes read by Stephen Fry. Awesome!
Currently “400 Things Cops Know” on audiobook. Humorous and insightful with interesting observations on how things look from the other side of the blue line.
Next up, several books @dawn suggested as homework.
Homework? Pray, where might I locate this listing of mystical tomes?
@Dawn, care to share some homework,?
I’m on the road today but will post later!
Moved on to a new book, and no laughing. I’m reading my wife’s copy of The Cornered Cat. I’ll take learning anywhere I can get it, and frankly, so far, this book is better than a lot that I have read. I would recommend it to anyone.
@fish I’ve read The Cornered Cat… it’s one of my favorites! Also excellent on Audiobook.
