Hey @Noel6,
Welcome to the forum! You mention LTC course, are you by chance a fellow Texan. I think that is the only state that refers to the concealed carry as a License To Carry.

Hello all, new and old-timers alike!

New to owning a new tool, the Glock 48. It was quite a long road to becoming a gun owner. But education and research led me to want to protect our 2AR, myself, and my family. Bad things can happen anywhere, anytime, and the bad guy(s) gets to decide when. Though, where I live, the chances are slim, it can still happen. It’s like wearing a motorcycle helmet; rarely is it needed, but when it is, it’s very important. (I survived hitting a big buck broadside on my motorcycle at a little over 60 mph in the dark. The helmet was the determining factor in whether I’d be here or not.) So it is with CC; rarely needed, but when it is…

Glad to be a part of such a nice community of like-minded law-abiding citizens. You know, the police are rarely convicted of firearm violations, but they’re convicted six times more than permit holders.

There is some info on me in my profile, if you wish to know a tad bit more about me.

Owning this tool is a great responsibility and I’ve taken measures to ensure safety in the home. I’ve also communicated this to my wife; but she is still a bit concerned of having such a tool in the house. I’m trying to educate and show her by good example, that it is a safe tool when handled properly and explain the reasons why such a tool may one day be needed, of course, we hope that day never comes.

My hope, some day, is to see human-endangerment zones, commonly called gun-free zones, (GFZ’s), eliminated. How common sense eludes such people is unbelievable. I read, that since 1950, 94% of mass shootings happen in GFZ’s! (FBI definition of three or more killed in a public GFZ.)

But I digressed; totally preaching to the choir! LOL

The community looks like it is very vast here and full of information, knowledge, and wisdom. I look forward to continued learning.

Happy 4th of July!! Be safe out there!
