Hey all, Hagan here. Happy to finally be part of this community and looking forward to learning a lot from you all! Some background - I’m new to the US (from South Africa originally) - we live in Colorado and love it out here! Never met more friendly and kind people.
Also a first-time gun owner. I’ve been impressed with the focus on safety first. I was quite nervous about handling a gun but have received nothing but first class training from the folks at Iron Horse Armory and Centennial Gun Club. So if you’re in Denver and you need some training to build your confidence and skills - hit them up. (I don’t work for them and they don’t pay me!)
Great to meet you all!
Welcome scott121!
Greetings from idaho
Welcome Hagan, south Africa? Holy cow, long way from home!!! Congrats on taking some training, proud of you for that, and very important!
Hello all,
Spencer from IL here.
Welcome fellow Illinoisan!
Hi, I retired from the Marines (24yrs) and am currently living in Maryland. Even though I can’t carry in MD, very frustrating, but I finally decided to join USCCA because my sons are getting to the age that I can start teaching them proper gun safety. I look forward to learning more and gaining better skills. Glad to be here. Thanks.
There is not an app for the site (yet) but you can view it on a smart phone. View the community on your phone through the web and then make a shortcut for it (almost as good as an app).

Unless something has changed and I have not heard about it Missouri is a Constitutional carry state. I do not believe (could be wrong but I dont think so) you need a permit to conceal carry in Missouri as a resident of the state.
The only reason you should need a permit is for reciprocity for other states when you travel.
My go to person for all things CC in Missouri is @Zee (she is extremely knowledgeable) but has not been online much during the stay at home orders (internet issues).
I am sure she will eventually get a chance to read this and I am sure she will respond to give you the answers you are looking for.

The exact reason that if Texas ever goes to Constitutional Carry I will continue to renew my Texas LTC every 5 years.

I have all of those bands on my computer. lol! I played in a Country Rock band for 12 years
but I’m an old rock & roller50673350_109932713441205_5502404996588634112_n_109932710107872|283x280
Ok, maybe I should start a new topic, if so Dawn move this…
Question:
Who is the best drummer of all time? To qualify this, not just who your favorite was or who was the most popular, but truly the best. Definition of best: Unique style, diversity of percussion used, live concert show, and of course ,lightning fast!
#2 Neil Peart of RUSH, not only did he play drums and other percussion but he was also the band lyricist. He was the first drummer I remember who had double bass drums. He was a libertarian and it was apparent in some of the lyrics he wrote. (The Trees)
#1 Carl Palmer of Emerson,Lake&Palmer, with his unmatched speed and diversity of instrumentation I have only found Neil Peart fractionally below Carl in the standings. He was the first drummer to incorporate his drumming into a synthesizer as apparent at the very end of the song Lucky Man (1970). That part of the song absolutely blew my mind, amazing. Carl could play a role on 2 drums/cymbals at the same time using both sides of the sticks , with both hands!
ELP was the first concert I ever saw. ELP in Cincinnati with a live orchestra to debut their Works I album.
Look up some youtube of both and tell me what you think.
John Bonham & Kieth Moon
I’ve had folks say these two before.
Keith Moon, he maybe a favorite as he was in the who but drums and cymbals, no other instruments. Not really lightning fast, no real originality in his solo’s, but, super popular in The Who
John Bonham, he certainly had his own style and his performance in songs like kashmere were amazing! He was fast very fast but not fast enough for #1 or #2. He did not have a real array of instruments but new his stuff well. I’d give him a solid #3 and WAY above Keith Moon. It was really hard finding good videos of him in solo’s.
I also wanted to find solo’s from these drummers from when they were at their peak, in the 70’s. Neil Peart was strong and fast up to his retirement in '17.
So apples with apples.
Neil Peart, Just an amazing amount of talent! Speed of light fast!
It was hard to find non-bootleg videos of Neil. This video is of Neil when he was 58 years old!
Carl Palmer, there are so many amazing videos. This one shows off the speed in 1974, fast forward to 3 min. ELP / Karn Evil 9 1st Impression Part 2 / 1974 California Jam - YouTube
Anyway a fun topic, other thoughts from other folks?
Army vet, former reserve MP. Got interested in ccw after my mp training. Kind of liked shooting the 1911, shotgun and M16. I hope to find some like minded people in my area to go shooting with. Also because my job keeps me on the road 100% and I like to go hiking, I have to go with people and in places that I am unfamilar with. So for my own security, I think that I should carry more than my knife.
Hey, welcome to the forum. Where are you located at?
That’s really bad that you included everyone’s email address in this communication. Take me off this list!
