If you are justified in pointing a gun at their face, why are you pointing a gun at their face but not shooting them?

Are you sure you want to point a gun at someone’s face when you are not intending to shoot them?

I realize a fair number of people, including those with more training and experience than myself, recommend lights (though a lot also don’t). But, these are some of my questions for a private citizen concealed carry in public. I just don’t see the use case to pointing a gun at a person in public when you aren’t intending to justifiably shoot them.

I also have yet to find, despite much trying, any cases of private citizen concealed carriers needing or using a WML.

(home defense being a very different animal, though)

Well, it would depend on the situation, like most things, but if I can make someone stop approaching me (who I feel is threatening me with deadly force or great bodily harm) just by unholstering and pointing, then mission accomplished. If they stop, I can either back away and call 911 once I’m safe or maybe they will run. In all those USCCA training videos, many of the attackers run when someone directs a muzzle at them, and I’d guess this is the case most of the time in real life too. With a light, I have the extra effect of stunning them, so it seems better then just a plain ole muzzle point. I really, really don’t want to ever shoot that thing outside of a range  Plus, I’m broke, so my EDC is going to double as my home defense option

I would agree on a DEDICATED HOME defense weapon. However, in the dark outside public, simply pointing a gun at someone can get us in serious trouble. And when you are just trying to verify a threat in such a situation, and it turns out to not be a threat…again, could spell big problems.

Use handheld to identify threat and use of force.

Drop it and go to gun, and use the weapon mounted light to keep your eye on the threat.

Seems simple to me. When I shoot I want to focus 100% on shooting not what’s my left doing and what my rights doing.

2 is 1, 1 is none.

2 are paramedic blades, 2 are for SD, and 2 are for miscellaneous cutting needs. I carry 2 custom Karambits for SD. I’ve pretty much had a Karambit on me for almost 40 years and I’ve carried the current custom pair for about 10 years. I carry 2 Paramedic blades for cutting seatbelts, clothing, etc. as I have dropped a blade during a rescue before so I have a spare blade just in case. I carry a hideout knife in my belt, again just in case, and finally a neck knife for miscellaneous package opening. I keep very sharp edges on the 2 different pairs of knives so I don’t want to mess the edges up so that’s the why of different knives and types.

So does that make the optimal number to have 3 since 1 is never enough?

Got a guy who custom makes them for me. When I buy something to use as a tool for my protection I will pay for upgrades or custom.

Strangely enough, I feel naked if I don’t have them on. I wear a very heavy belt because of it which also helps with my back issues so big glass of pure win for me.

There was a meme that I always found funny.
Question: What are you so scared of that makes you carry all of that?

Answer: Absolutely nothing.
