And therein lies the problem with defining any human activity by “Need”. You personally don’t think we need…? Who will have the power to decide what other people need? Who decides the punishment for exceeding the established need? And, even more frightening, who will be next to take those positions? And who after that? We quickly wind up in a sucking, spiraling gyre of authority given to the few over the many, simply based on what the few believe the many “need”. Do some people not need expensive medical care? Do some not "need’ to have their voice heard? This sort of ‘control framework’ occurs quite enough naturally in human society; there’s no need to purposefully create more of it.
Ahh, the glories of the free market. Want to bring down athlete salaries, bring down team owner and league profits? It’s simple! Quite buying tickets, buying merch, quit paying them for their product. Reduce the incoming cash flow to a relative trickle and the payouts will likewise plummet. Easy peasy. Stop feeding the beast and it can’t shyte so much.
Magical thinking. The Universe does not favor the “middle ground”. (Nor does it particularly dis-favor it.) As far as any middle ground does exist, it exists as a segment of the transition flow between extremes. The problem in understanding this is that the Universe operates on such incomprehensibly large time scales that it’s very easy for us short-lived folks to decide that “things have always been this way”.
By the way, maintaining the middle ground was, and is, the virtuous goal of every true communist. I’m NOT saying that YOU are a communist. (I have no idea either way.) Just noticing that you seem to have–quite un-intentionally I’m sure–incorporated one of their tenets.
You claim there are three sexes (male and female plus Hermaphrodites) if someone claimed to be neither of those three, wouldn’t that make four. ( male, female, nonbinary, and non nonbinary.
@David38
Personally I do not think we need over 850 billionaires …
This is simple… The Wealth Tax of 1935 and the Victory Tax of 1942 They got rid of this so the poor rich people. Didn’t have to pay as much in taxes… It was a redistribution of wealth … Which created jobs, like infrastructure… So the Dems did the health care act … Which also is a redistribution wealth but a more savvy way of doing it … Sadly the way they did it doesn’t help with jobs …
I have noticed you always rail against being in the middle …I am not for the extremes, like Don is … Though I do believe all progress depends on the unreasonable person… I choose not to be unreasonable unless I am confronted. Never backed down in Real Life… I will not here either … Told my father you can kill me . I will not change my mind … So think about it. Even in my death you still lose…
Also my comments about pro athletes was a question I got. It was more about the money going to more than just one guy … When you look at how much top scientist make … You have to agree the pay scale is a bit troubling…
Hey Robert … I look at it like I do when I am reading psychology… Neurosis / subsection defense mechanisms … another subsection Obsessive-Compulsive … They are all Neurosis … I really should use the term intersex traits … Hermaphrodite being one … I just thought people would recognize what I am talking about … If I used interssex, people would be more likely to lose their shiat… Start calling me a Dem and woke … When it is about physiology … Hey did you see I got an upgrade from being a Dem or woke or communist… I am a BOT now…
Belief in conspiracy theories is not a mental illness in itself, This is good news for some. It can be a symptom of a variety of psychological factors. These factors include personality traits, motivations, and defense mechanisms…
Paranoia: A common trait among conspiracy theorists
Insecurity: A common trait among conspiracy theorists
Impulsivity: A common trait among conspiracy theorists
Egocentrism: A common trait among conspiracy theorists
Narcissism: A strong predictor of belief in conspiracy theories
Native-born Hispanics and Latinos may exhibit xenophobic bias against immigrants from Latin America. Some Hispanic/Latino Americans have joined far-right political movements known for racism, xenophobia, and antisemitism. Along with gun groups and MAGA…
Brought to you from wikipedia… Do to lack of Brilliance , Some people are just so smart it makes you LAUGH …
Born and raised in Mexico, immigrated to the USA to escape the cartels.
He did so legally, and is now a naturalized citizen!
Guess what? He absolutely despised the Biden administration and the open border policies and is fully MAGA!
Same with sooo many others I work with from other parts of the world including Tibet, Argentina, Chile, Poland, Ukraine, Japan, Korea,… the list goes on.
In point of fact, I do not rail against being in the middle. I merely recognize that the middle is a transitory state in the ultimate scheme of things. To treat the middle as though it is a steady state inevitably leads to disappointment and a crumbling world view.
Psychology…a “soft science” which yields–at best-- highly malleable results which are easily shaped to fit a desired outcome. MOO.
Perhaps now would be a good time to agree to disagree. I don’t believe either of us is likely to change the other’s mindset, so continuing is probably futile.
Wow, that was quite a heated debate there. I was waiting for someone to raise the issue of why minorities commit more crime on a per capita basis (yes, that is a fact), but no one really got into it. I guess the idea of institutional racism is too touchy a subject here. What makes a terrorist is the same thing that makes a criminal - young males with no opportuntiy for a better future. If you’ve got nothing, you’ve got nothing to lose.
EXCEPT Sir, the ‘Terrorist’ is possibly Indoctrinated/Brain washed into the CULT to KILL Infidels! at an early age Any Infidel will do really. Sharia Law Disrespect Women, Read only One Book,
(and it ain’t ‘Willie and Joe!’) Taught to HATE! Death in Service of the Prophet pleases the Prophet!
The Criminal? Oh yeah, the same thing!
