Hey it matters. To him anyways.

He was forbidden possession of a firearm as a “restricted person.” To me that means convicted felon. The drug exclusion is only if you are addicted. Just because he had a pipe in his pocket doesn’t mean he is “addicted”. He can be a casual user and not be addicted. The felony exclusion applies in all states as it is a federal offense. It is rarely prosecuted at the federal level. They are too busy with political persecutions to actually prosecute a convicted felon in possession of a weapon, parts of a firearm or ammunition. It carries either an eight year bottom or a ten year bottom, depending upon the offense.
I agree with you Charles with the one exception.
If this gentlemen carries drug Paraphernalia with him
(a stem or tube in this case) He is into a drug that rarely is ‘Casual use’.
Tested by Police turned up POSITIVE for ‘METH’
That is not Pot or Coke, That is HARDCORE.
Abusers or addict’s cross a line when it is Crack and Below.(Generally
leading to an awful end for the user)
Rational behavior goes right out the window, like regular 'Bathing habits,
Paying Bills, Holding a Job, Not Threatening Family and Civilians…
Yes, we are GUESSING here but it really isn’t a stretch that a fellow who
sticks a gun in his waistband (without a holster) Prolly isn’t a Platinum member of USCCA
(Excellent point Mike)
FWIW I don’t see indication of being a convicted felon. The reason stated for prohibited person is the order
“Hampton has a protective order against him that indicates he isn’t allowed to possess any guns, according to police.”.
Did you see something else indicating felon?
Either way…convicted felons can be USCCA members. Nothing in the article tells us he cannot be a member. I say this again because there seems to be a lot of misinformation out there regarding membership requirements
Totally fair to guess.
Though I’m not sure why USCCA membership status, guess or not, even came up in the first place. ![]()
I do not believe I even mentioned such a comical statement.
The thought of this poor wretch having USCCA coverage is laughable.
This conversation would have been more Enlightened and useful to all
of us if it didn’t get bogged down in a did he didn’t he have USCCA.
His actions alone from the article shone him to be a person with poor
judgement. Everything else is conjecture and we will never know.
Case closed for me. DONE
That should be on Trailer Park Boys
He is one lucky dude. When I was in the hospital on Okinawa the Marine in the bed next to me had shot himself in almost the same spot with his .45, 1911A1. The difference was the slug in the Marine’s case had penetrated the knee joint and ruined it before continuing on down the inside of his leg and coming out just above his ankle. He was getting a general discharge under less than honorable conditions and would walk with a limp for the rest of his life. This was long before knee replacements and other advanced orthopedic surgeries.
I thought the same thing, another 6 inch’s and it would have blowen his knee out. ![]()
Of course, they will say guns are bad and blame the tool and not the person wielding the tool. Most tools can be used for nefarious purposes whether it be a hammer, shovel, screwdriver, scissors, chainsaw or many other tools from a wide variety of tools. I find it weird though how if someone is murdered with a hammer, knife, scissors, screwdriver, shovel, or whatnot those same people who blame guns never blame the shovel, screwdriver, knife or the hammer. ![]()

Because hammers and screwdrivers don’t kill people!
Sick people kill people!
Bingo! That’s the entire point. People kill people and not tools. People use tools to kill.
We law abiding have nothing to wipe off, we have no connection to these criminal morons.
Welcome to the Family.
Welcome Brother Gary to the fold!
Enjoy your stay @ the USCCA Continental
Charon will show you to your room…(818, I believe) ![]()
Regarding the AD, striker type (ie glock)?
