We have them in Utah too

" Nate Blouin is a Democratic member of the Utah State Senate, representing the 13th district. He assumed office on January 1, 20231. Before his election, Blouin worked with clean energy groups and environmental organizations to promote renewable energy. He has been active in proposing legislation aimed at promoting gun safety and loosening eviction laws in Utah2.

They’ll put this stuff out there but as usual it never even makes it through committee. This guy is all over the Democrat agenda.

JM Browning must be spinning in his grave.

Hope it won’t make it through committee.

Thanks for keeping us undated!

When I first went to visit my Nephew in Orem Utah in 2022, his sister and I noted the housing prices were low in comparison to our area. Also there were a lot of Wyoming, Idaho and Nevada license plates driving around. During our last visit in November of 2024, we noted a lot more California vehicle license plates driving around and the housing market had exploded. 3 years prior a 3 bed 2 bath single story averaged $250k to $280k.

Now it seems that California has brought its housing market and politics with them. As the price of homes have shot up to $400k for the same type of home. In speaking to his friends it seems that as always, the job market and pay rate have remaind flat during the housing up-tic. Some say that is great for legacy owners, in getting more equity. However as my nephew was considering staying following his graduation, he has decided to apply for police and sheriffs departments in Arizona and certain areas of Texas. He wanted to buy a home after appointment, but not now as he has been priced out of the market with rapid inflation.

He saved money from work and Student Aid while in school for a down payment. Yet now he peojects apartment and room mate living for an additional 5 years if he decides to stay where his friends and school are. Be safe, everyone!

Yea we certainly seeing the Californication of parts of Utah, Salt Lake City may as well be in Ca, the Democrats have taken over and implemented left, far left policies. Fortunately, for now, they are compartmentalized in specific areas, Like Orem, Salt Lake, St George but they aren’t bashful, they run around pointing fingers and calling names.

At least for now, gun control, in any form herein Utah, is a sure nail in the coffin of any politician that proposes it.

Yes, I have an out-of-State Utah CCW Permit. The free 6 hour course was very informative and engaging. $15 for a picture, $25 for the DOJ/FBI wet print roll and $64 for the permit. Waited 6 weeks and got it in the mail. I chose Utah because my nephew lives there and it affords reciprocity in over 30 other States. Its the best $104, I’ve ever spent. Heck the cost of just the Live Scan in CA. was $125. That does not count the interview, the handeling fee, the 16 hour class and the qualification with each firearm on your ticket (Maximum of 3 firearms). In CA. it is all about the money and really nothing else. They did away with “Just Cause” on the application, but they save that for the in-person interview. They blatantly ask “Why do you need a consealed firearm?” That answer equates to a statement of just cause. That and wait 5 to 6 months for an interview. Be safe, everyone!

Remember…a liberals idea of gun safety is to ban and confiscate all firearms.

It would also add a five-day waiting period to any firearm purchase.

“There are studies that show if people had 5 to 10 minutes longer to get access to their lethal means they would change their mind half the time,” said Dr. Ellie Brownstein, a pediatrician with University of Utah Health.

If it only takes 5-10min, then why make people wait 5 days? How about 30min, so people are 3x more likely to change their mind? “We have a nice lunch special today. By the time you’re done eating, we’ll have your firearm ready and waiting for you.” I wouldn’t mind having some BBQ while waiting a little while.

I know. Right?
My wife is like 5-10 minutes to change his mind at the LGS, doesn’t seem that bad, save us some money…

This stupid Senate Bill 130 needs to be stopped. You see there they go once again stepping all over gun rights. Its not the guns or A.R. ITS THE CRAZY PEOPLE BEHIND THEM.And who are they to made decisions on guns what is bad or good. The 2A did not state the kind of guns we could have or carry. This stuff needs to be void in every state. we need to get a law that voids all the old gun laws on a federal leveal passed down to the states, telling them that all the gun laws in their state is now void & the only law on guns is now the 2A.And if chaines are not in place in 24 hours you will be behind bars.

More likely that after the 5 to 10 minutes they are dead and don’t need to access their firearm any more. Also, tell me what you want to prove and I will design a study that will prove it beyond a doubt.
