Virginia may be ground zero!

Good points on where to go from here:

I this topic or the new spin off, @Jeff-A1? I’m not sure what language you’re referring to?

Boy it just doesn’t get better…

While Virginia Democrats are merrily approving gun control laws aimed at the state’s legal gun owners, they apparently aren’t interested in focusing on violent criminals who use firearms in the commission of a crime.

HB 1175 would have increased the penalty for using or brandishing a firearm while committing certain felonies, which seems like a pretty common sense bill to me. Instead, members of the House Public Safety Committee rejected the measure on Tuesday, while approving a number of gun bills that are meant to restrict the rights of legal gun owners in the name of public safety.

I lost track of the conversation. Still have a few braincells unthawing from Monday. I thought there was going to be a new thread starting in regards to the 2A legal counter-offensive in Virginia. When I see “Ground Zero” I think physical conflict. Ground Zero = Boogaloo.

We have a tough legal battle ahead of us, if Governor Northam follows his money trail, leading his merry pack of paid politicians down the “oppress the citizen” trail, we will have to challenge every “law” that is shoved down our throats. Is that what is meant by Ground Zero?

I… struggle to find words for this…

I can’t. I just can’t. This would be hysterically funny if this wasn’t from an elected official who is trying to trample on our 2A rights. I have never heard such a stream of lies and stupidity in one go.

I got the link to the video from the summary here at Daily Wire.

The link to the video is below, this is from a town hall yesterday I think.

If what he is saying had any truth to it, the Democrats in Virginia would not have just defeated a bill sponsored by Republicans to increase the penalties for certain gun related crimes.

Crazy ish that was spoken by Levine…

  • 1994 AWB was very effective
  • The bill distinguishes between guns that go like this (holds hands like he’s aiming a rifle) and guns that go like this (holds hands like he’s Rambo wielding an M60)
  • Mass shooters don’t like guns that go like this (holds hands like he’s aiming a rifle) because someone can knock the buttstock into your head. Deer don’t do this, Elk don’t do this
  • you can mow down an advancing army
  • The best weapons for self-defense in your home is a shotgun. Something something 40 pellets.
  • Feel free to write something on a card and tell me why i’m wrong
Apparently, this town hall required people to submit questions/comments on A CARD which is then read and then Levine can take as much time as he wants (like this 7min+ rant of stupidities) to reply.
  • Those 1 or 2 secs saves lives (regarding forcing mass shooter to reload)
  • Weapons of War features like a pistol grip, flash suppressor (hides your location) or silencers…
  • suppressed gunshots dont sound like gunshots (I guess they have realized it’s not “silent”)
  • Deer hear a [suppressed] gunshot and run away no matter what. But people they don’t know that is and don’t run away
  • You’ve seen very few mass shooting with machine guns, because of the 1930s NFA

  1. More gun control bills pass out of committee

  3. More gun control bills pass out of committee
On Friday the House Public Safety committee met to hear a series of gun-control bills. This type of hearing is normally done in subcommittee, but they skipped the subcommittee meeting.

Some of the bills duplicated or were similar to each other. Those bills were rolled together into one single bill. No pro-gun bills were heard and all the gun-control bills passed out of committee and are headed to the Floor.

Here are the seven gun-control bills that came out of committee. Bad votes are in red, bi-partisan votes are underlined. Not a single Democrat on the committee voted even once to support gun owners. Delegates Ronnie Campbell and Amanda Batten stood with gun owners 100%:

HB 2 , Plum, Universal Background Checks. It doesn’t even allow for the loaning of a gun, even among hunters, unless both parties stay right next to each other the entire time. Passed on party-line vote:

YEAS–Hope, Bourne, Plum, Kory, Lopez, Rasoul, Price, Levine, Carroll Foy, Helmer, Cole, J.G., Simonds, Jenkins–13.

NAYS–Wright, Robinson, Wilt, Fariss, Rush, Davis, Campbell, R.R., Coyner, Batten–9.

HB 9 , Bourne, requires reporting of a lost or stolen gun within 24 hours of the discovery of the loss or theft. This bill implies that the gun owner could be liable if the lost or stolen gun is used in a crime, unless it is reported within the 24-hours. That is a bad precedent. Passed by a vote of 15 to 7, with some Republicans supporting it:

YEAS–Hope, Bourne, Plum, Kory, Lopez, Rasoul, Price, Levine, Carroll Foy, Helmer, Cole, J.G., Simonds, Jenkins, Robinson, Coyner–15.

NAYS–Wright, Wilt, Fariss, Rush, Davis, Campbell, R.R., Batten–7.

HB 421 , Price, destroys the firearm preemption law, allowing localities to make confusing ordinances, resolutions, or motions that affect the possession, carrying, storage, or transport of firearms or ammunition. It passed on a party-line vote:

YEAS–Hope, Bourne, Plum, Kory, Lopez, Rasoul, Price, Levine, Carroll Foy, Helmer, Cole, J.G., Simonds, Jenkins–13.

NAYS–Wright, Robinson, Wilt, Fariss, Rush, Davis, Campbell, R.R., Coyner, Batten–9.

HB 1083 , Hayes, makes it a felony to leave a loaded, unsecured firearm where someone under 18 years old has access to it. Many home invasions have been stopped by someone under 18 using a firearm. Passed by a party-line vote:

YEAS–Hope, Bourne, Plum, Kory, Lopez, Rasoul, Price, Levine, Carroll Foy, Helmer, Cole, J.G., Simonds, Jenkins–13.

NAYS–Wright, Robinson, Wilt, Fariss, Rush, Davis, Campbell, R.R., Coyner, Batten–9.

HB 674 , Sullivan, Red Flag law. Sullivan claimed this bill will help prevents suicides. Baloney. It shreds the Constitution. Passed by a party-line vote:

YEAS–Hope, Bourne, Plum, Kory, Lopez, Rasoul, Price, Levine, Carroll Foy, Helmer, Cole, J.G., Simonds, Jenkins–13.

NAYS–Wright, Robinson, Wilt, Fariss, Rush, Davis, Campbell, R.R., Coyner, Batten–9.

HB 812 , Ward, One Handgun a Month. Worst of two bills that were rolled together. There is no exemption for CHP holders that the old law had. Passed on a party-line vote:

YEAS–Hope, Bourne, Plum, Kory, Lopez, Rasoul, Price, Levine, Carroll Foy, Helmer, Cole, J.G., Simonds, Jenkins–13.

NAYS–Wright, Robinson, Wilt, Fariss, Rush, Davis, Campbell, R.R., Coyner, Batten–9.

HB 1004 , Mullin, takes away a person’s guns even in his own home if there is a protective order out against him, setting up that person to be murdered by a vengeful spouse or other person. Mullins had a chip on his shoulder when discussing his bill and was called out for how he was addressing fellow committee members who questioned him on the bill. Passed on a 20 to 2 vote, with many Republicans voting for the bill:

YEAS–Hope, Bourne, Plum, Kory, Lopez, Rasoul, Price, Levine, Carroll Foy, Helmer, Cole, J.G., Simonds, Jenkins, Wright, Robinson, Wilt, Fariss, Rush, Davis, Coyner–20.

NAYS–Campbell, R.R., Batten–2.

  1. Action item: Let’s flood the phone lines at the General Assembly!
Let’s make calls and send emails to both our Senator and Delegate, saying “no more gun control,” including Red Flag laws, weakening of firearm preemption laws, any bans on guns, magazines, or suppressors, and Universal Background Checks.

Do people still think there is not going to be shots fired over this?

I am not calling for it nor am I suggesting it.

I just dont see this staying peaceful anymore.

@DBrogue I cam across a new Cam & Co with a good explanation of what we all should be doing to turn this tide back:

It sounds great and I hope it goes in a peaceful direction BUT I still think someone some where is not going to agree to be arrested for doing nothing wrong other than owning a gun which is protected by the second amendment.

@DBrogue Unfortunately, you are probably correct. If these laws are enacted, there will be problems. MSM will have a field day and those non-gun-owning Americans will turn toward more restrictive solutions regardless of Our Constitution . Hey most of Europe has strict gun-control…

The 2020 Richmond Rally probably surprised those same Americans. 30-40,000 people, many with firearms, rallied in peace. Zero violence. No MSM feeding frenzy. We were incorrectly labeled as “white supremacists.” I saw many diverse folks there. Maybe I missed it but no confederate flags. Well mannered concerned citizens that left the area in better shape than we found it. Those VCDL “Guns Save Lives” stickers didn’t stick very well, either.

I know the latter is the message I want to send. Peaceful people that respect the Constitution that are awake and ready to fight at the ballot box and in court to preserve every Americans rights.

so… Ok. Most folks don’t know that Mark Levine was previously in California before moving to Virginia in 2001. @KenM may remember him from CA, I certainly do.

My personal favorite of all the idiotic and evil (and I don’t take those words lightly) things that Mr. Levine ever did was to argue AGAINST penalties for child porn on the basis that criminals who has less than 100 images of child porn on their computers should be exempt from major penalties “if its just for personal use”.

^^^ yep.

Read that again.

He argued that pedophiles who weren’t found to be trading images should be allowed to have up to 100 images of CHILD PORNOGRAPHY on their computers for personal use.

Not kidding. He said that. In a public hearing. :scream:  :rage: :triumph: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, that Mark Levine is going to ever do that makes me see him as a decent human being. EVER.

@Zee That is horrifying. Are you 100% sure it’s the same Mark Levine? And he held office there in CA?

The video I posted, as idiotic as it was, still had me wondering “are these people trying to do the right thing, but are too dumb to get out of their own way? or are these people actually evil?” If that is his stance on child porn, well I think I have my answer.

He was a real piece of work as an attorney/activist here in CA, his recent ramblings on what the definition of an assault weapon is almost as special as he is.

Yep @Harvey same guy. :rage:
I’m going with actually evil.
