Suppression of speech refers to actions taken by authorities, individuals, or groups to prevent people from expressing themselves freely.
The act of suppressing speech, particularly when it targets dissenting or critical viewpoints, often reveals several characteristics or motivations about the individual, group, or authority doing the suppressing.
Intolerance of Diversity: It can reveal an unwillingness to engage with or tolerate different perspectives, cultures, or beliefs, demonstrating a lack of commitment to pluralism and open dialogue.
Fear of Truth or Criticism: Suppressors may be afraid of the ideas being expressed because those ideas expose flaws, corruption, or inadequacies in their own power, beliefs, or authority.
Insecurity in One’s Own Position: A strong belief system or secure authority does not usually need to suppress contrary opinions to survive. The need for suppression often suggests an underlying insecurity that their own views cannot withstand scrutiny in a free market of ideas.
A Desire for Control: Suppressing speech is a fundamental tool for maintaining absolute control over a population, narrative, or environment. It indicates a need to dictate what is considered “acceptable” thought or opinion.
Ultimately, the suppression of speech is often a strong indicator of an authoritarian mindset and is in direct opposition to the principles of a free and democratic society, which generally values the robust exchange of ideas.
I consider it ironic that people here are completely up in arms about Charlie Kirk, but whenever it comes to people here, they have no compunction about silencing them.
All that is actually required is to be a true patriot of this great country; it requires the ability to stand for your beliefs without threats from others and the ability to express those ideas freely as an exchange of ideas. To accomplish anything less is un-American and turning your back on this country and what those before you gave their lives for.
Authoritarian mindsets destroy the republic. We need to embody nationalism. Band together and keep the government in check and help the little people see the error of their ways.
There are no little people. There is us. An Authoritarian mindsets destroys democracy, the destruction of democracy destroys the republic. My 2¢
While everyone questions things from time to time, our country may be having an identity crisis if it is going through a big change or stressful time and internal questions regarding its sense of self begin to interfere with your daily life. You might also notice that people feel more irritable, unmotivated, or empty. It is important to be aware that having negative feelings about your country can be an indicator of a vulnerability for depression.
A country going through an identity crisis may be preoccupied with certain questions:
-
What am I passionate about?
-
What are my spiritual beliefs?
-
What are my values?
Consider your goals. Spend some time thinking about your goals in life. -
What do you want to accomplish?
-
What types of things bring you the most joy and happiness?
An identity crisis might be a sign that some need is not currently being fulfilled, so finding ways to satisfy that need can bring a greater sense of fulfillment to your life.
I am passionate about saving lives, compassion and skateboarding.
It is all spiritual.
Life is my most important value. Staying in shape and living a long life.
Move to Israel and surf and skateboard.
Bring joy to other people. What good is joy if one doesn’t have someone to share it with.
Some times I simply disagree and do not want to hear it. Like “Hey Dude, pot should be legal, everybody smokes it…”, or “the orange man wants to be King…”, or or or. Silencing speech can certainly be dangerous, silencing lies? not so much…
Inflation, unity of two parties, drug addiction, federal budget deficit, Illegal immigration, gun violence, violent crimes, moral values, public schools, climate change, international terrorism, understructure, domestic terrorism, racism, unemployment, idiots, jack a$$e$, prostitution, government, and United States Territories.
What did I miss?
You cannot escape the people who wish to silence you. Much like idiots, they are not great in number, but they are strategically placed, it seems, so you are always having to deal with them.
Make no mistake, these are the ones I am referring to as the little people. Intellectually stunted, they do not possess a first-rate mind. The ability to hold two opposed or contradictory ideas in the mind simultaneously while still retaining the ability to function. This concept emphasizes cognitive flexibility, maturity, and the capacity to manage complex, paradoxical situations without breaking down or forcing premature certainty.
These individuals are in dire need of our help. It refers to holding opposing viewpoints—such as believing things are hopeless while remaining determined to change them—without collapsing.
It allows individuals to move beyond “either/or” thinking to find creative solutions that resolve conflicts. Something that is in short order these days among those who lack cognitive flexibility and reasoning skills.
Dissenters have never slowed the vision of what this country was founded on: the Constitution. They have on occasion obscured it from sight momentarily. They fail to see that the far right and far left are identical. In their intention of controlling what and how you are allowed to act, denying you your basic freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution.
We need to help the little people understand where they just might be in error when it comes to following the tenets of the Constitution.
For people who think they’ve got what it takes ![]()

I am really impressed with the perspectives you two dolts bring to this conversation. Go follow Jesus already; he might actually love you. I find you repugnant and mentally malnourished.
I currently have more followers than Jesus. I definitely do not require two more, especially of your CALIBER.
Oh, that was a gun witticism. I just love the double entendres.
