U.S. Representative Christmas Photo

Agree. My thing is that until the Dems can move away from the insanity and more along the lines of a Joe Manchin, we need more GOP in office to keep keep some balance and that won’t happen if our politicians do stuff like this picture. They can either use their 1A rights to a fault or they can suck it up and focus on getting / staying in office and restoring some sanity to our country first.

Doesn’t the gun the Rep is holding look like an M-60 machine gun? If it is one, and not some sort of replica, that also is not helping the 2A cause. In any case, the timing is kind of tone deaf, it bolsters the idea that we’re all gun nuts and don’t care about anything else.

We all have our opinions.

C’mon guy.

so… Yes? No? Am I wrong?

One of the reasons to move to Kentucky, Rep. Thomas Massey!

After reading Jerzy’s post that started this chain, I initially shared your position, BRUCE26. But, while he might have phrased his comment differently/better, I think Jerzy took the opportunity to point out something subtle about gun safety and the chain then, largely, turned into a discussion of that topic, no longer about a politician and the 2A. I have come to appreciate the point Jerzy was making and, yes, there is a safer way of holding their weapon than that demonstrated by some of the family members in the photo. I believe everyone who takes the time to read posts on this site is serious about gun safety and that Jerzy, eloquently or not, rightly pointed out that what was portrayed in the photo was not “best practice”. For that, I say, “Thank you, sir.”
