He goes into detail about how historically Ukraine was a Russian territory as part of his reasoning for invading. Then says he has no interest in Poland, or any of the other lost territories…. 
Another part of his reasoning was to stop the nationalist movement developing there (nazis) and yet claims no designs against Germany? Who he listed as the #1 supporter of Ukraine….
His withdrawal from Kiev was extending an olive branch and not just getting beaten back?
It was certainly interesting to see something without the filter of western media.
But I have pretty strong reservations taking his words at face value. He’s still a politician.
