Here’s an article from 2019 from security.org, regarding the Muller investigations into what we now know was the the Russia Russia Russia collusion hoax. The article’s last paragraph tells me what I am looking for.
“The temptation for congressional Democrats next week will be strong to try to elicit from Mueller soundbites about Trump’s past indiscretions. They’ll be far better off if they instead—or, at a minimum, additionally—focus on Trump’s present threat and America’s future elections. So will our country as it looks to defend itself from counterintelligence concerns in the here and now, and a presidential election that’s almost upon us.”

It’s established that filing false business records is a commonly prosecuted crime in New York State.
This is not a mere witch hunt. The Trump Organization has been unequivocally found guilty of criminal tax fraud, resulting in a substantial fine for defrauding the state of NY. The COO of the organization is currently serving time in jail for his involvement in these crimes.
The Trump Organization has a long history of criminal behaviors, and piercing the corporate veil to hold the principals accountable is a reasonable step for the state.

No not in the the least, I want the rule of law (something I thought conservatives were interested in) to mean something.
a jury of 12 peers saw the evidence and convicted. That means something.
if the counter is 12 New Yorkers, who we all know are biased, well then Trump should have not commited these crimes then in New York.

You mean, like lying on your 4473 form is a felony? You better believe it.
You mean, like using an unsecured server in your home to hold top secret documents, then destroying 33,000 emails, in violation of court orders should be prosecuted? You betcha.

Lying on the form is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison in addition to fines, even if the transaction is denied by the NICS . Prosecutions are rare in the absence of a felony committed with the gun purchased.

That same SCOTUS also gave Dobbs and New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen, both of which I think are flawed, but I do not think that the institution is flawed.
I am hearing that if we lose, it’s corrupt, and if we win, it’s how it ought to be.
