Too much infighting

Correct, the only person you can control is you. Though I have found that if you treat others well it can sometimes help them get where they need to go.

And the more people we help get to where they need to go the closer we will get to us all getting where we need to go. It’s a win win situation.

It does unite us. In that, I think all, every single one of us “here” — are united. That’s pretty cool.

It seems that every page I go to, wether here, veteran pages, political pages or local media, there are always a small set of individuals who go out of their way to stir trouble and animosity.
They inevitably proclaim free speech and say that anyone who don’t want this divisiveness is thin skinned, butt hurt, can’t take a joke etc.

It never does anything good. It always runs off or causes the people who are there to enjoy the site to stop participating.

It’s the same as has been forever. A few bad apples spoil the barrel.

I swear I’ve seen this before.

Politics will be flagged.

The historically proven Achilles’ heel of all communities.

Careful. My posts were censored for saying essentially the same thing.

I tend to frown :frowning: on that sort of thing.

From what I’m seeing there is more of a mismanagement of removal of posts. Someone’s flake melts, reports a post and it gets removed. Doing this empowers the ppl flagging and they do more of it. Maybe instead of instant removal a poll is conducted of the community before it’s removed. We need to contact the administrators and put pressure on them to stop it.

Look at what is being removed and what is allowed to stay. A Bible verse is instantly removed but animal porn stays. Then we have a group that says: I’ve never flagged a post. All under the guise of free speech. The level of hypocrisy is only what we allow.

I’ve been more of a live and let live person. That is going to change. if we don’t stand up to allow the posting of a bible verse then nobody else is going to. 30 states, last I saw, allow constitutional carry but the left is still pushing for gun control without seemingly any push back.

If we roll over and play dead then we are dead.

I saw 14 of my posts - in one day - removed and all the ones I replied to are still there. So apparently the bullies were effective at silencing me.

Who are the moderators here? This shyte has to change. Free speech goes for everyone or it goes for noone.

They use to hide the post and one could see it if they wanted to. What it boils down to for me is when I’m in someone’s home I have to play by their rules. Even though this feels like my home the cold hard facts are it isn’t. I am minding my P’s and Q’s.:beer:

That’s just it, no it’s not. This is an open forum just like standing in town square. The forum gets the protection of allowing free speech and hurt feels need to learn to deal with it. Trying to please everybody pleases nobody.

I’m not against having rules and habitual breaker needs to be booted. That’s why there are rules.

Rules never changed. But the Community did. The problem is that most of removed post are automatically taken out by the “system”, not the moderator / admin.
All wise people know… whatever is automated does not guarantee any control.

In my first post I referred to years 2019 - 2021 when we actually had a Forum Administrator who actively participated in this Community. Since beginning of 2022 I’ve notice lack of Forum quality control… so after 2 years this Community ended at the level of REDDIT… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Except we are not in a public space. We are essentially having our conversations inside the USCCA’s online lobby. They invite the public in but it is still their space and according to their guidelines they reserve the right to silence us when we don’t play by their rules. Our words and actions can impact how others view their Company so it makes sense for them to reserve the right to filter content.

Unfortunately the flagging thing seems to work on an automated system that removes the post from view when enough flags are given. Ideally there would be a human to make sure the flagged post actually did violate forum rules before it was vanished or at least to check as soon after as possible.
