This vote in Congress was not simply about people having I.D’s but rather being able to show they are American citizens. The save act is about banning anyone who is not a legal citizen from voting regardless of whether they have some form of identification or not.

Again, you are all missing the point. It is already illegal for nonUS citizens to vote. The only thing new about this is law is the hoops to jump through to register to vote or stay on the voting rolls. According to the reports a drivers license, state ID even a Real ID is not sufficient to register to vote.
Republicans have for years been trying to make it harder to vote because the demographic of the people most affected tend to vote Democrat. Require ID, reduce the number of polling places in cities, stop mail in voting (although Trump likes this now?).
And the idea that everyone has a cooy of their birth certificate in the drawer is just laughable.
Overall, very smart ploy by Republicans to frame a very strict voter ID law in the context if illegals voting. Great publicity and people who dont undestand will fall for it.
The idea that you don’t care enough to get the proper identification so you can vote is laughable. I live in KY but was born in Massachusetts. I wrote to them, sent them a check and waited 6 weeks for it to arrive. I then had to have someone to drive me to the courthouse so I could register to vote. I have to have someone drive me to vote. I thought ahead and made voting a priority for me.
If voting isn’t a priority for you, sorry then you shouldn’t vote. Vote harvesting should be illegal period.

Who doesn’t have a copy of their BC? That’s Ridiculous! I have (2) just because during a move from Nuevo Yorka to Nuevo Mehico I thought I lost a box. I didn’t but I wrote my Hospital Ad Min. Paid the $15 and got another. You never know who’s going to ask for it and my Mama always said, “Young man you make sure you sign up for the Selective Service @ the Post Office (18), Get your Drivers license (17) and don’t lose your BC!” I said “Yes Ma’am”
