TikTok Ban Backfires Hugely

You should try much harder to stop being a nuisance and a waste.

Can anyone explain to me why 1) TikTok is the #1 story for a few days now, and 2) why idiot Americans jumped to another Chinese app?

Yeah. It’s called: Freedom.

But you wouldn’t know anything about that.

The general you, or are you just tossing childish insults at me again in front of these nice adults? I swear that you’re the same guy on the Subaru forum tossing falsehoods on every topic trying to look smart but only reinforcing ignorance. Just curious.

Subaru forum?

This one? Subaru Forester Owners Forum

That’s kinda cool. I like Subaru! That all-wheel-drive is awesome!

I’m going to buy a Subaru and put a video of it on TikTok!

  1. Because of how much China influences certain people? I really don’t know honestly.
  2. I also really don’t know. They don’t feel sharing all of their data with the US government is enough they must share all of their data with the Chinese also?

I really don’t know

Something tells me the #1 story is now the Inauguration of President Trump.

Tik Tok lives.

The adults have responded to the situation and you may leave this topic now.

Enjoy.

 How much personal data do Chinese share with Americans on Tik-Tok.

Chinese with Americans? IDK but I would imagine the Chinese keep what data they take, to themselves, and not send it back to the US?

I also don’t really worry about it because nobody in our household has tiktok, nor will they. Everyone else can do for themselves

Same here, as we would not get on Tik Tok, no way. Too risky to give out personal information for a Tik Tok account owned by a Communist Country! :grimacing:

I have never had a TikTok account, so I wouldnt know.

But to sign up on RedBook a phone number is required. That’s it. And away you go.

Chinese-owned RedNote and Lemmon8 track more than your app usage, they use face and object detection to monitor your surroundings. The Chinese government can access and use this data without restrictions.

Sounds like they get more than a phone number.

What you give them, and what they take, are not the same things.

Look at the locations of the swaths of ā€œfarmlandā€ the Chinese have already been allowed to acquire near our major military facilities. Our elected representatives have already sold the farm.

Not that one.

I’m confused about what you are saying. China is already going to take over the US so you might as well join their side and spy for them with that app so they look kindly on you once it’s over?

I’m…just really confused what the play here is
