Yeah our DA actually made the officers body cam available immediately so the public could see that he mad ea 100% righteous self defense decision as he was being chased by an assailant with a butcher knife that was on probation awaiting a 20-30 sentence trial for stabbing 4 people last year (2 of were family) and has a long history of violence.
The town folk rioted the night of the killing before the body can footage was released,blaming the officer for an unjustified kill. CNN of course went of the coroners report and ruled it a homicide,which it was not.
Most of the 13 had their bails reduced as a local convict support group rallied the constitution of “no bail set be set too high”. Theyre still in jail,some expected to release yesterday. smallest reduction in bail was $30k. Most are still considerably higher. I never thought the city I live in would ever have this mess,but here we are. Sad part is…all the ones that were arrested or started the riot…dont even ilve here.

My town made national news for a 911 call of a young woman and her child getting mobbed. We live between DC and Richmond…two rioting cities. I stand a higher chance of getting chewed on by a bear than encountering a riot, but still feel the need to be prepared considering the political environment. Remember the lawyer and his wife who protected their property with an AR-15? Besides their terrible weapons handling my second observation was as follows: who goes to a pants-off-dance-off with one mag? Not this guy.

This particular couple happens to own a check-cashing place, which is (presumably) why they were targeted for robbery. The thieves assumed they had money (cash) or valuables (because rich?) in the home.
4 invaders: 1 with a rifle, 1 with a shotgun, 2 with pistols, 2 with (maybe) body armor.
Depending on the layout of the house, would you have had time to strap on armor? This also points out the importance of reinforcing doors, every kick it takes the invader is a few extra seconds you have to call 911, barricade in place, maybe… put on body armor.
I would like to reply to this with that same stipulation of no sarcasm, just my pov.
I have body armor for the same reason that I have a self defense or home defense weapon to increase my survival chances if it goes wrong.
If I die and have never used any of it gun, armor, or training. I will be perfectly content.
But if that time ever comes that I do need it . I want the odds on my side as much as possible.
