You’d probably be surprised by the number of attorneys who would willingly line up for a short-term, well-paid gig.
Hell, I’d do it myself if I knew anything much about immigration law.

At $15, you stole it! I’ve always been the same way with carrying while fishing, or boating in general. As a matter of course, pretty much all the boaters I know are also gunners. Nobody thinks twice seeing someone carrying while boating. In fact, I’ve never gone out on the ocean unarmed. It seems crazy, being out alone in the open, in the domain of the drug runners, being anything but heavily armed, and that includes a side arm and a rifle in the cabin. I always carried a rifle over anything else for the long reach.
I also don’t want to be that guy that tests the rules and wastes time being harassed. The law needs to change.

Independence Day could start off with a bang!
It’s painfully obvious that President Trump and Governor DeSantis are not playing games. I haven’t seen these kinds of balls since Ronald Regan.
well said and true!
This is what’s great about being American. We have the benefit of our own culture and the best of others.
I can claim both recent immigrant ancestry, and very deep American ancestry. My dad escaped communist East Germany as a kid with his family. His parents had worked through a cousin here in the US quietly making arrangements for immigration while the iron curtain closed up, and when things were ready they slipped out and left, literally, everything behind. They left a beautiful house on a wooded acre on Pottsdam east of Berlin to move to a tiny 2 bedroom flat in Queens because feeedom was more important than stuff.
My maternal grandmother’s parents came from Ireland in one of the big waves from there, but my maternal grandfather’s family goes back well pre Revolution. My great great…(not sure how many times) grandfather was a Colonel and his two sons were Captains in the war. That side of the family has kept very tight genealogy records over the years.
Anyway, happy Independence day, to all Americans!
Our ancestors came here to build a better life for themselves in a country that was much better than the one they left. They worked hard and adopted our language, values and culture.
The new wave comes in for the free stuff, bring with them their third world bullshit and wrap themselves in their countries flags while they set ours on fire and piss on it.
Nope….
Seems to me there are going to be about 95-seconds left over during the hearing.
It’s not an IQ test, just a question about immigration status as it relates to policy.
It’s entirely possible I over estimated the length of the hearings.
I agree with you. The way to change is by legislation or it won’t make any difference. If not the changes will go away with the next administration.
the key word is LEGAL, do it the Legal way, no problem. come illegally and get deported. period
A hundred years from now, I hope one of my descendants would post something similar about me. I recall during our first year, my two kids had something similar to a swear jar where they put a dollar for each time they violated my “speak English only” rule. I collected less than $10.
Agreed.
However, I will add that the legal way is broken as well. Not defending illegal immigration in the least. But I’ve wrestled through the process of hiring immigrants to work where I work. There is a nation-wide shortage of workers in my industry. The amount of expense, paperwork, attorney fees, filing fees and all the stuff you have to work through is a lot. We have very good friends. She immigrated from the UK to work here. Even after roughly $5,000 in expense, she had about a one in four chance of getting picked in the lottery process. She’s a top shelf young lady. She and her husband get our kids if the wife and I both drop dead. I’ll never forget the day I walked into her workspace and told her that her number came up in the lottery. She stood there and wept like a baby and about broke my wife’s neck hugging her.
I despise illegal immigration.
But the current process of getting people here legally is, frankly, a motivating factor in illegal immigration.
I am not suggesting there should be no process and no vetting. Quite the contrary.
My wife saw a guy open carrying this week here in PA. No one seemed to notice or mind. It’s not an everyday occurrence. But in PA you can actually open carry without a permit.
My statistics teacher always told is to attack the sample to argue against any poll.
I am 100% against illegal immigration. My knee jerk is deport them all yesterday.
I suggest due process should not apply to anyone here illegally. That could be an interesting discussion with @Gregory258
But, I don’t always think it’s that easy.
My case in point is completely personally. (But feel free to attack me anyway. I won’t take it personally.)
There is some anecdotal evidence to suggest that I am the offspring of an illegal immigrant. My great grandmother came from Germany. My mom’s recollection is that she came to America when she was only 16 years old. She would, therefore, had to have lied about her age on the papers in order to immigrate. If this anecdote is true (likely no way to prove it either way) then I would state the my great grandmother is an illegal Im migrant.
Should all of her offspring, therefore, be deported?
Feel free to start the deport Sinbad petition.
It’s not for the benefit of the illegals that I advocate for due process. It’s to prevent legal residents from being caught up in this process.
I agree, there is a LOT of room for improvement in our immigration process and I am hopeful that we will make progress on just that. I also agree that undesirable system we have now isn’t a valid excuse to break the law.
Yeah. Though a bit more about that after I posted.
