Has anyone had good/bad experience with this Henry rifle? This has been around since the 1950s as first the AR-5 survival rifle for downed Air Force personnel.

My dad owns one. In over 30 years it has never failed. He was not the best at cleaning it either. It was his coon hunting gun. He shot a bunch of .22 shorts out of it as well. I think it is a decent, lightweight, packable little rifle.

Honestly, I’d rather have the Ruger 10/22 Takedown w/ Magpul furniture that is not much bigger. Holds 3 10rnd mags in the stock, 1 in the receiver so you’ve got 40rnds on the weapon from the get-go. It has the option for 25rnd mags and even drums. Boringly reliable.

IDK about boring. That’s like saying routine air travel is boring. I’d prefer consistent and uneventful.
