How do you plan on commemorating it?
Fire a volley from a Remington cap & ball revolver?
Build a Faraday cage for your Ipad?
Avoid sending telegraphs?
Kiss a Prepper?
C’mon, there’s got to be something we can do to mark the anniversary!
Interesting @Dave17 thanks for the information. When that went down my great great grandma wasn’t around yet, or maybe. You learn something new every day.
This planet exists in a galactic shooting gallery. Don’t worry, though - our vaunted news media will report we got hit by a hot one 2 days after the event.
I read about the Carrington event about 15 years ago. It’s been on my mind ever since. NASA says there is about a 10% chance of it happening again in the next 5 years. May not sound that high to some but that is pretty significant considering the Pentagon estimates that 90% of the US population would be dead within one year if we were hit by a flare like that.
