Suppressor cover and bag

Just got my first can. YHM Turbo 3. Was wondering if anyone had recommendations of a suppressor cover is needed and if so, which is the best one. I realize that I have to get something that will resist the heat or it will melt into the suppressor itself. Any help is much appreciated.

Keep in mind that my experience is limited (presently only have 2 cans); others here can certainly provide better advice. But, here’s what I have learned:

The need for a cover is dependent upon velocity and round count during a shooting event. My .308 will heat the can quickly with supersonic ammo but not so much with subsonic. My .22 can will heat quickly when firing 10 round mags in rapid succession, even with subsonic ammo. The .308 is a bolt action hunting rifle with a 5 round mag; with the exception of sighting it in and target practice, it will never super heat the can in a hunting setting. The .22 can doesn’t heat much with my bolt action .22 rifle but gets a little too warm to hold with my Buck Mark auto pistol (but not enough heat to exhibit a mirage that hindered target acquisition).

As far as cover brand, I think that’s just a matter of preference. I bought a Devour cover for my Banish 30, but it seemed way overpriced for what it is. My recommendation is to read reviews and purchase the most economical cover that doesn’t have horrible reviews. If I had it to do over, I probably wouldn’t have bought the Devour but would have opted for a cheaper brand.

I’ve got a couple Manta Defense covers

I used them quite a bit on a couple Banish (223/30) suppressors. Titanium cools off pretty rapidly and I found these were retaining heat, so lately if needing to bag a gun or swap a can, I simply wait a few minutes for it to cool off. I also didn’t care for the way the heat waves affected my vision through the scope after things got hot. With your can being ss/cobalt, you may find this cover more beneficial. A good glove comes in handy as well.
Edit…looks like this won’t fit the YHM due to diameter. They may have one in 1.562" but the site is refusing to let me to return to it at the moment. Edit #2,vpn updating, so now I can access the site lol…Manta says the 1.5" cover can stretch to 1.7"…Maybe so, but I find these are pretty darn tight on a 1.5" can, though after a few re-installs they have gotten a bit easier, using the supplied lube, which is simply a hand cleaner. Still thinking it’d be a real pita getting one on a 1.562 can…or off.
