Heard this on on the radio this morning.
When stopped at a light, stop far enough back that you can see where the tires from the car in front of you touch the road. This will give you room to drive off, without backing up, should someone unseemly approach your vehicle.
Oldie but a goodie.
Always leave room between you and vehicle in front of you. Enough room you can drive to the side(s) of that vehicle. I leave even more room if there is nowhere to go on the sides (large trucks stopped there, concrete walls, etc), so that I could move forward a bit, even if not away-away, some decent space there can still give an "off the X’ option of sorts.
I’ve been practicing that and was able to put it to good use just a couple months ago. Not sure and didn’t bother to find out if I escaped potential trouble.
I have been doing that for years. Always leave yourself some room to make evasive maneuvers.
Yes, been doing this for years and just got Nancy to stop short regularly.
Also scope out left and right before you need to move, even onto the sidewalk.
If you are attacked while in your car, THAT CAR is your BEST weapon!
USE IT! You have to be ALIVE to worry about repairs/insurance issues.
Run over, Through them but keep going, Don’t stop for their comrades to
finish the job. Worry about all the Worries later.
