GREAT stuff!!! My HD SBR is loaded with those. Also a damn fine hunting round if you are a good marksman and know where to place the shots.

They might sell quality ammo, but their prices on 9mm FMJ are OUTRAGEOUS!!! Seriously horrible. Blazer Brass 115gr FMJ for $24.99 per 50 rounds??? I routinely find that same ammo for half that price with free shipping for bulk quantities. Even paying for the shipping only adds $2-$3 per box. That’s a lot, but still far less than their price. Even the local branch of a big box sporting goods store only charges $19 per box, which in itself is outrageous. That’s “out-of-ammo-and-there-are-zombies-at-the-door” kind of pricing.

Didn’t go to the site to look at prices, only commenting on the ammo. I have enough of it to last me 3 generations.

Cheapest Blazer Brass I have seen lately is $0.24/rnd with free shipping. Either 115 or 124gr.

This is cheap for this .223 ammo though.

It’s better…

My wife keeps telling me if the SHTF we should have precious metals and tons of stored food. My response is that if things are that far gone a suppressed .22 and a brick of subsonic ammo will get me all the precious metals and food I’ll ever need. :sunglasses:

It’s my belief that tons of stored food is always a good idea no matter what’s going on in the world, but precious metals? Depending on how much S hits how big a F, precious metals might not hold their value for very long–if at all. In a real capital “A” Apocalypse–the kind that will take generations to even begin recovery-- your average survivor will figure out pretty quickly that precious metals might look pretty but they aren’t good for much at a practical level.

The best items to have in stock are much more mundane and much more useful. In terms of food you’ll want a big supply of long-storing non-perishables. but you’ll also want harder to find staples like several kinds of salt, baking powder and soda, yeast (baking and brewing) and/or sourdough mother, and coffee/tea (if those are important to you), to mention the obvious. Also seed for edibles crops that breed true. Equipment and materials for purifying water, including lots of activated charcoal, are a must no matter how good your water source is. Great for bartering, too, along with water containers.

When it comes to metals, the “precious” ones will turn out to be iron, mild steel, high carbon steel, copper, tin, brass, tie wire, and lead, amongst others. Tools and equipment and the skills to work these metals go without saying.

For real ‘spending cash’, AMMO of all kinds is likely to be king. Along with liquor, medical supplies/skills, shoes and clothing, utility knives and hatchets, and other universally useful items. Batteries of all small sizes would be precious, too. Many kinds of small electrical devices are likely to survive and only need the “power bullets” to keep them going. Little solar chargers would be good.

This just scratches the surface of all the things necessary to have a chance at establishing a moderately sized, self-sustaining community capable of defending itself. The complete list runs for many pages and includes not only the supplies, but also the skills, knowledge, and people needed to make use of it all and pass it along to the next generation.

I might be thinking about this stuff too much. It’s a thought game I play with myself that I call “Apocalypse Village”.
