The occupant of the home did the right thing by not opening the door. If you ask me that looked like a home invasion in the making.

Agreed.
With the pistol out and standing sideways like the main person was.

Unless we are expecting company, we don’t even answer the door anymore.

If I saw that on my camera, I most likely would be staged with my shotty in case they did somehow get through the door.

I would also at that point be calling 911

You know that if the occupant inside the home did open the door and waited for them to enter and shot them it would be a bad shoot and it’s on video. I thought that when he said give me a second that he was getting his own arsenal.

I gotta admit, I thought he was really going to open the door. Not me, I’d get R into the safe room, grab Kimberly and wait for the Real Police to knock on the door…

Definitely would call 911 as well.

Exactly, that’s what I would do. Then I would put full gear on in case they decided to try and force their way in. Plus have the USCCA ready to dial.

Doors open, c’mon in!

What are the odds they take the bait?
The real problem I have with this, is they will be back or they will survey the home and wait till the occupants are gone.
Either way, this home owner now has a serious pest problem!

Possible but not likely that they ever come back. Home invasion is a crime of opportunity. Deny the opportunity and the criminals move on to the next one. Home invaders are generally not burglars. Two different criminal mindsets and “skillsets”.

I guess I’m living in a world, where, at 3am, a crocodile looks exactly like an alligator!

Seriously, I’ve been taught not to answer and confirm with 911. That camera image shows me and the court, that we’re not dealing with the local police!

Right? Hey ma, there’s a guy in a hoodie with a mask over his face at the door. Did you order pizza…

I’ve been considering some type security camera, whether it be a Ring, Nest, or other system. Seeing stuff like this makes me want one even more. Gonna have to investigate which is the best.

Would have called 911 immediately then setup and waited incase they broke in.
