Was wondering if there was ever any training or articles written about being a senior, I’m 74, and being handicapped. Training for protection and how the rules change for using legal force.

I doubt rules change as far as self-defense is concerned.
Having said that, what’s a minor threat to a fit, in his prime 24-year old may be a life or death situation for a 74-year old.

I recall North Dakota, awhile ago, made shooting in the kneeling position a requirement for carry concealed license a range qualification. - of course - why not - that makes a lot of sense - especially for those who really need a CCW.

I’m 56 and in a wheelchair the past 15 years, I had to do a lot of the work myself to figure out my carry. What I have come up with semi auto vs. revolver even though a semi auto holds more. it makes no difference if you can’t rack the slide or clear a malfunction so a revolver fits my situation and because I can’t raise my hand to get a traditional sight picture. I use a grip laser that turns on as soon as I draw and grip my gun.
the 1 and only time I have had to draw my gun. was on a punk that was walking towards me verbally threatening me and my wife. but, as soon as he seen the red dot on his chest he thought twice about his chosen path and chose a different target.

Very well done. I have not had that ephemeral experience, but have drawn a knife a couple of times, though unopened, hidden in the palm of my hand, wherein the perp realized he had appointment to attend to that I reminded him of.

Not specifically guns, but I have 3 friends that are rolling around in wheel chairs, They all carry, and they all choose revolvers for the exact reason you did. They All have 4 legged friends they take with them everywhere. 2 have the large model Pit Bulls and the lovely lady has a beautiful Doberman…

I’ve only pulled my knife once, punk kid (mid 20s) at a party thought the quiet old man (I was just over 40) in the corner was an easy mark…. He wanted me to turn out my pockets, I told him he didn’t want that,…. He insisted….
While I wound up putting my knife back in my pocket, the rest of his night didn’t go very well.
Police got involved, they eventually found him and transported him to the hospital, I heard 3rd hand about a month later that he lost his job as a restaurant server because of the extent of his injuries.
No charges on either side, (honestly expected that I was going to jail)
I feel bad for his decisions that night, but I gave him every opportunity to walk away.
Post script;
that was the last time I chaperoned my coworkers kids at a party! (Not worth the legal headaches!)

I’ve disable family members who prefer revolvers for the same reasons, simple to shoot, no malfunction, easy to correct a malfunction (trigger and cylinder out of synchronization) by just keep on shooting, the Kimber KS6 has a 6 round chamber, no worries about magazine capacity (some states <11) like NJ.
