Yes, but in the case of the S&W EZ, it is less subjective as it is a significantly lighter pull than anything I’ve ever have or currently own.

After my adult daughter indicated she wanted a handgun and wanted to be taught how to use it. We went to our local range. I rented several different pistols for her to try and asked a female instructor to show my daughter the basics. Knowing I sometimes get carried away with details and thought this was a better option for her to learn. My daughter settled on a Smith & Wesson shield 9MM. It made a nice Christmas present for her plus I threw in a membership to the range.

Lyle, there would probably be more women shooters if more boyfriends, husbands, uncles, fathers, etc, followed your example.

I went through the same drill with my daughter as Lyle. She settled on a revolver (S&W AirLite) using 38 special lite loads. She figures that would be enough at close range.

Im not a fan of the EZ for the simple reason of the backstrap safety, due to the design, you really need to train having a tight grip high up on the grip or its a brick.

My uncle and cousin both got one in 9mm, they both had issues when I was teaching them how to shoot, they kept saying the gun wont shoot. I would pick it up and it would shoot just fine… Took a lot of practice for them to be able to shoot the gun.

I dont recommend it for the reason of the backstrap safety.

One of my pistols is a G2C (older model the of G3C), my wife a new gun owner loves her G2C, she loves even more her pistol with a 17rd G3 mag and a magazine adapter I found online to fill the gap for a larger grip for home defense.

The G3C is inexpensive and a good gun that will work well but it is a little top heavy for some, especially for those who want to carry as well.

A popular option at the gun store I help out at a good 3+ days a week at, the HellCat or the larger HellCat Pro.

The Sig P365 is another common choice.

Glock 43x is also popular however im not a big glock fan…

M&P 2.0 9mm is another that is well liked, I hope to get their 10mm in the future.

Of all of them, if on the budget, the G3C is a great option.

Of those, for a lady, the one I’d recommend is the HellCat, it feels great in the hand…

A lot of older woman have been getting the Ruger LCP Max, its a 380 compact with an ez slide, no front rail but its 10+1, its been hard to keep in stock at times…

That’s a feature, not a bug. :grimacing:

I was put off enough by the grip angle and design of the thumb safety to look in a different direction without actually shooting one.

It may be a feature but for a person who is not necessarily going to be practicing on a regular basis and keeps it for home defense, last thing you need in an emergency is the gun not shooting due to a lack of training…

Where were they holding it? I can’t really grip mine without it working properly.

When you’re learned to pinch, not to grip… That’s why grip safety doesn’t work.

I’m not EZ fan, but if that’s the only easy racking option for the shooter, better learn good master grip.

I am a women and have a Sig p238. I have put 1000’s of rounds through it and i think its a perfect gun for me. I also have a Sig 365…again 1000’s of rounds and always fires…again perfect gun. Both are easy to rack and fun to use. I cary the 238 and my 365 is my at home defence weapon. Never a misfire on either gun. Also I just discovered Flash Bang holsters…have her check those out too. I am 5.5 and weight is 125…also 75 years old.

Wow! I found one today at one of the local gun shops and omg this 380 model is slick! The magazines have little stems that protrude out on each side where u can pull the spring down for very easy round insertion, and the grip safety back would seem like One has to grip it firmly in order to allow firing. $379 with 2 Eight round magazines,… really a smart design. Going to watch some YT video’s, it’s larger than i thought it would be which seems fitting. Might go ahead and get one. Thanks for the tip.
Wonder if its snappy??

I always have my Kel-tec P3AT 380 in a pocket holster on me when dressed, it’s snappy but that’s from it being small and I bought it in 2008. Also have a '21 model and used to it.
Thanks again everyone for the help
