I am of the opinion that once someone pays their debt to society all rights should be restored.

Depends. If you grew up in the 60’s and got 10 years for marijuana possession or something similar, OK. It must be non violent and victimless. If you’re guilty of say identity theft and you ruined someone else’s life, absolutely no. You should have gotten the death penalty.

sadly it seems there are a few that just keep on keepin on so to speak…

I’m with you on the non-violent offenders!

but if they committed a crime using a weapon against someone that was innocent… NOPE!

we have too many here now that have no morals or compassion for others…

and of course some too hung up on drugs…

and even some that believe they will get better treatment in paradise the more harm they do…

I am under a belief that EVERYONE has the right to defend themselves within their own home regardless of prior conviction. If a person is convicted of a murder or if convicted of drug possession, doesn’t matter. They did their time, let then have a weapon of their choice for home defense.

Outside the home should be dependent upon what crime they committed. People with a violent criminal history should not be allowed to carry anything outside their home. A minor possession charge should get a person some time on probation where they attend gun safety classes, then be allowed to train and get their LTC.

Just my thoughts.
