Did you get a look at the Desert Baby Eagles I recommended? Sounds like you’re still shopping. CZ is another source - their CZ-75 is still out there - Walther has had an all-steel model , as well. Some Sig Sauers - like the P220 - you should also look at.
Yeah I basically compiled a short list for my friend to research further. The Baby Eagle looks like it checks all the boxes. He will take it from there checking reviews online and youtube, and (ideally) see if they have it for rent at our local range before purchase.

If you want heavy yet still carry-able, opt for an N frame S&W and/or steel 1911.
