Range targets - show them off!

Do you feel handgun better in your hand than 10 days ago? Results seems to be similar, however grouping looks nice with faster pace on today’s target. :+1:

I definitely feel an improvement. Next time I’ll work on tightening the groups, and trip after that will be faster pace.

5, seven, and 10 yd. 3 inch barrel hellcat. Not as fast as Levi youth has its advantage. Lol. That’s 500 rounds now through the second hellcat so I’m pronouncing it good to go. Time to clean and oil it and put it in rotation.

After each time at the range, I look at the target and ask myself, “What did I learn today?”
Because learning from a day at the range is important to improving and if I lie to myself and say I am good then there is nothing good from the time and money I just spent shooting. So, imperfections are welcome to my getting better. Keep up the good work and keep getting better.

Yeah honestly my main concern is getting a hundred more rounds through that new hellcat. I almost didn’t go today because of how bad my back is, but it’s hard to keep an old hand down. Secondly I have a 1911 and 22 TCM caliber I’m having trouble with. Failure to feed. Polished the chamber and feed ramp as there was a couple small imperfections but still the issue persist. I noticed on the mags the tip of the round after the first one is dragging internally on the mag. It’s already nose diving before it ever leaves the mag.

Did a little research and found others with the same issue. One guy started using 38 super mags and the problem went away. So then I looked at the oal of the 22 TCM versus 38 super. Turns out the 38 super oal is 0.16 longer than the 22 TCM so that may be enough. I ordered a single 38 super mag today just to experiment with. We’ll see.

Went to the range yesterday. Took only my EDC Hellcat Pro.
Haven’t shot it in a month and a half.
Shook out the rust on the first mag, then was pretty happy overall.
I had an epiphany while shooting at the two lower corner shapes on the target.
I have always struggled shooting at the lower portion and managed to completely miss the target. Then I realized as I aim while pointing the gun slightly downward it is throwing off my sight picture (iron sights) in a way I was not recognizing. Things looked good to me.
So to prove my point to myself I bent my knees to where my weapon was level with those lower shapes and nailed them dead on.
I have to figure out how to handle shooting where my target is low. Apparently there is something about angling low I have to figure out.

Aiming high is not a problem.

I also have done that too! I have figured out it was my sight alignment, sight picture. I was aiming down at the target, but my front sight was sitting high above the rear sights. It was enough that I had shot above the target. I hope that may help a little.

My target no longer exists. We shot a 50 BMG today😎

Today I worked on my grip and follow through control.

  1. Yellow - 15 ft, 4 x 5 rounds at different pace. Once I reached 5 rds in 3 seconds I noticed my hits started dipping down

  2. Red - 15 ft, 5 x 5 rounds blindfolded

Hopefully you don’t shoot Glock… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
3 ft is a dangerous distance and Fire Department is needed to rescue the target. :upside_down_face:

Sighting in my new 20-inch barrel on my 556 with scope.

Now it is sighted in. I need to go to an outdoor range and check it out.
5 shots in the lower and three in the upper.

It was traveling so fast that it went back in time and hit the tree it was made from.

Why did you need to use a .50 BMG? Was your target wearing a kevlar vest? C’mon man!
