This right here is an example of why I always carry my EDC in my condo. Admittedly, I don’t unlock the door for just anyone but I guaranty you, come into my place swinging a sword around and I don’t know who you are. There’s going to be a real big mess to clean up.
“But, honey, we just replaced the carpet?”
Considering a sword’s reach, one’s action/reaction must be swift.
Man face? Nice Engrish. Should be facing coroner, no?
So if I understood this right, a civilian was able to disarm an assailant and detain him until local law enforcement arrived. Without killing him…
The government needs to hire this guy immediately to train ICE officers.

I consider myself pretty good at martial arts/self defense. I have to put this on into the “Use the best tool as fast as you can” category. If I were unarmed in this circumstance there is no question I would go hands on, knowing it was EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, but if I were armed?? acquire, “STOP!!! DROP THE KNIFE!!!” then depending on what the perp did, I would take appropriate engaged actions.
That right there is what I was talking about. Thank God there are people like you out there. I just wished there were more of them working for the federal government.

@Mike164 , you forgot to post how far… or how close to you it happened… ![]()
Usually whatever happens in SLC is a handgun shot distance from your home. ![]()
Can’t tell from the article. West Valley is a ways away, to the west.
My insurance agent is a friend of mine and I posed this question to him. He said that if I had to shoot an intruder in my home, my insurance would pay for the cleanup and any reapirs, replacement. After deductible that is.
