Has anybody already posted anything about this? I did a search both here and online and didn’t come up with much information. This would be a major reversal of the Gun Control Act (GCA) of 1968.

Id love it if it ever happen. They would have to repeal the NFA to do cuz of the NICS check etc and that will never happen.

…and then we have 21 states imposing tighter restrictions on gun ownership, some violating their own states time constraints on issuing permits ( seeing 18 months +/- repeatedly with no response on a NY forum), a suppressor bill that was wildly compromised, a machine gun bill started here in WV that spread to KY that,at least in WV was conveniently left behind when bills were set to be advanced,and lots of hot air blown about regarding 50 state reciprocity…

Truth be told, the Trump administration is pushing for this change to allow handguns shipped to private residence bypassing FFL dealers after (I believe it was his son) purchased stock or shares in something called Amazon of guns. A major firearm retailer named GrabAGun. Research it
I dont care what the reason is, im all for it. Id love to have a gun delivered to my house and bypass the FFL.
Having learned the hard way, I don’t even trust having checks delivered to my home.

it’s not bypassing the FFL. You just do everything remotely.
will it lead to more straw purchases? Yeah of course. Will the cops be at your door when you do it? Yep cause they get notified as part of this plan.
will people be very mad when they get taken for a ride? Yes. Guns aren’t returnable. Check the policy at grab-a-gun. That’s who this is for. Get a gun and it doesn’t work right… Well your problem now. They have a bad reputation already and likely it will be worse. Will that stop anyone? No.
good for the industry? No it’s just gonna be cheaper. Low margin sales with questionable outcomes. Oh I’m sorry you bought SKU xxx that’s the 10 round 3.1" pistol not SKU xyz that’s the 18 round 4.1".
gun owners are a minority. Nationally about 35% of Americans own a gun. This is a cash grab and will result in less people safely carrying and using firearms. That means making enemies of people so specific people can get richer. Yeah a lot of gun dealers suck as people. Avoiding them is going to seem awesome. Unfortunately the people who avoid them aren’t always going to be safe.
for very busy or very rural people this is probably helpful. For everyone else it’s not that exciting.
7. If you’re a kitchen table or even small FFL it’s probably over for you. This is likely the goal here. Consolidate FFLs so you can get much better oversight.
