Proportional Response

Is this in our future? I’m not talking of as a nation but as individuals in the context of self-defense.

  • On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hallie Jackson Reports,” Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) said that “it’s getting harder” to look at events in the Middle East and say that what Israel is doing is a “proportional response.”*

I guess stopping the threat won’t be an option. It’ll be (as my wife just said to me) tit for tat.

Perp: Gimme your money, or I’ll mess you up!
Victim: Gimme your money, or I’ll mess you up!
Perp: What the???
Victim: What the???
Perp: Why I oughta…
Victim: Why I oughta…

Doesn’t it sound like a Bugs Bunny clip?

This doesn’t end a threat, it perpetuates it. Proportionate doesn’t mean equal. I prefer what Sean Connery’s character said in The Untouchables.

“Haley Stevens and Elissa Slotkin barely scraped by last election, and we plan to aggressively target their seats in the midterms,” said Mike Berg, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee. “Voters will hold both of them accountable for voting in lockstep with Nancy Pelosi and putting Democrats’ job-killing socialist agenda ahead of the needs of Michiganders.”

The way I look at what’s going on between Israel and Arabs militants in the Gaza strip, if you look back in all the fighting between the two the Arab militants have always struck first over the many year I have been paying attention to so I truly believe that Israel has the right to strike back with all what they want to hit back with, after all that’s there country and have the right to defend their country. Just like you have the right to defend your self if a person attacks you.

An inconvenient truth.

Good overview of history, thank you. The Bible has some cryptic parts, and some that are very clear. “Whoever blesses Israel will be blesses. Whoever curses Israel will be cursed” - it doesn’t get any clearer than this. This is why Palestine is a hellhole without a future.

From what we see in the street of NYC and Miami, Palestinians are trying to bring this regrettable attitude to our nation. No, we should not allow it - see above. This is for both ours and their benefit alike.
