Some random thoughts…

Quick and good work by the officer clearing the bad round.

I wonder if Federal quality has slipped with the new foreign ownership.

WTF? The mother of the guy trying to kill cops with a knife thinks it was divine intervention that there was a bad round??? That her son has a “higher purpose?” Well, he better start his mission by giving up murder, and go from there.

I think his higher purpose should have been room temp. Everyone knows guys like this dont “change”….for the good atleast.

Grand Rapids is a blue city but they do try and take crime seriously

That’s why we practice clearing malfunctions.

Tap, rack, re-assess the target. Make it your habit and move on.

It was really funny when he said: “maybe too much oil" …what? It was a Glock for God’s sake :joy:

Light strike? Bad primer? That’s something we, the shooters deal with every day.

Well, looks like sometimes you’ll get a bullet that’s a dud, maybe didn’t have gun powder in it.

Why oil in the ammo cartridge? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

On the oil issue, only think I can think of is heavy lube on the gun and with mag inserted, seeped into the ammo.:person_shrugging:

People do weird things but has anyone heard of oiling ammo?

He said the unfired round showed it had been struck by the primer.

Well there’s the problem right there. Never strike a round with a primer. That’s just not gonna git ya there.

I thought all of West Michigan was Red. Detroit, Lansing, and Ann Arbor were the blue parts.

Oh no. Although smaller pop numbers compared to the east side, GR and muskegon are blue. Went slightly purple in 2024 but overall dem run.

I wasn’t sure if I heard the same… but looked like he said this.

That’s why crime is high in blue cities. They use primers, red cities use firing pins

When I took my Utah CCW class, the instructor told the story of a student who had a firearm in pristine condition, very well taken care of,but it wouldn’t shoot for anything. Malfunction after malfunction. Reputable brand. the whole nine yards. So the instructor used her own ammo. It went bang every time. So she drilled down and found out the student had “cleaned” her ammo just like she did her gun. She told is not to do that.
