Well, I am very protestant, so this doesnāt really effect me directly, but I do feel bad for the man. He seemed more of a Marxist than a Christian, and openly advocated some positions diametrically opposed to what the Bible says. Iām glad his influence is gone, but I had been praying for him. Just not recently because of our own personal emergencies.
I hope his replacement is good.

Born and raised Catholic and I still believe the church was a HUGE part in my upbringing and character for the better. While the Catholic Church as an institution is hugely flawed and full of controversy I also know that as a whole they do a LOT of worthwhile work and have personally witnessed some amazing things and met some incredible people in it.
Pope Francis kindāa of strayed out of his lane when he turned political and said that deporting illegals was a sin. Tough talk from a guy who lives in silk pajamas in a wall city inside a palace with armed guards all around him. That in my book is a might shaky soapbox to preach from to the rest of us that have to face the streets every day and reveals the disconnect between the Vatican and the people in the pews. But that is all between him and God now.
May he resit in peace.

This particular Pope got far too political for his own good. Apparrently, he missed the part of the bible where Jesus was asked if people were required to pay taxes. Jesus asked for a coin and, having recieved one, asked the giver whose likeness was on that coin. Whereupon he was told āCaesars likenessā. AND Jesus spake thus; RENDER TO CAESAR THE THINGS THAT ARE CEASARāS, AND TO GOD THE THINGS THAT ARE GOD"S. The Pope is considered infallible regarding the workings and rules of the Catholic Church. Insofar as the politics of the world are concerned, heās just another high ranking religious figure with āopinionsā of his own, the same as any other fallible man, to be respected or ignored as each individual chooses.
