This might be an interesting read for some of you.
Highlights include taking down an aircraft with a 1911.
"Baggett saw the pilot open his canopy and decided to take a chance. He drew his .45 caliber M1911 pistol and fired four shots at the pilot. He then watched as the plane stalled and plunged toward the ground.[9][10][11]
Baggett later gained fame as the only person ever to shoot down an aircraft using a pistol"
You’ll never know what you or your weapon is capable of if you don’t try. Congratulations to a man who said, what the hell, and fired 4 shots and successfully accomplished the task at hand. The same holds true when I hear someone say “what if you’re outgunned? Remember, it takes only one direct hit to determine a fight regardless of the weapons used. I don’t remember who said it but someone asked, what’s the best gun to have in a gunfight? The reply, the one you have. Those of us who carry can learn a lot from this story. If it’s good enough for you to carry, it should be good enough to win any fight if you have the right attitude.
