Hardly anyone shoots it any more.
The big bang sure gets more attention at the range than a pew-pew,
Gotta love it!
Until you bring out the 44 mag with 300 gr. Hunting loads…LOL
Love my .45’s.
It was my side arm for my military careen until they switched to the Barretta in the 80s. I love my 1911s & I actually use one for a carry gun quite often
My screen name isn’t 45IPAC for giggles. I’m a big fan of the Lord’s caliber.
A life long friend’s Dad was a Doctor in WWII. This was his 1911. It’s obviously a Colt & was manufactured 1n 1913. Lucky man that owns this piece!!
I’m not sure that’s true.
I know 9mm is the most popular today, but I still see a big section for .45 ammo at the stores. Someone must be shooting it.
The 1911 is a beautiful relic. I love mine, but would never want to depend on it to save my life. Still one of the more fun guns to shoot and I carry it to the range almost every time.
I am, “STEP AWAY FROM THE .45”.
Didn’t take long!
Mr. Smith ( and not Wesson ) just changed his legacy. For the next three generations! That slap will live in infamy…as a meme!
That relic spent 75 years in military service not including the one still attached to my hip. I depend upon it everyday. It served me well in the service, and will serve me till I die!
( Chevy, Ford and Pontiac haven’t lasted that long ) Most marriages don’t last that long. The only thing that’s lasted longer and kept it’s beauty and value is the Hope Diamond.
These may be relics but they out shine anything on the market today!
Those are beautiful!
Can you imagine the run us “seasoned” folks would make to the car dealers if GM would release a new Pontiac? I know the Feds shutdown Pontiac, but GM supposedly paid back that loan, so as far as I know, there’s nothing to keep them from using that brand, anymore.
Heck, they should make a (reliable) Trans-Am that will sync to our smart-watches. Call it the Hasselhoff edition.
