Granted I’m not from Maine so I can’t vote in any of these elections. BUT, just the optics make it difficult to take this serious.

Unfortunately, too many of these primary elections aren’t taken seriously. Just look what happened in the NYC mayoral election. Lack of “good” choices doesn’t help and the rules for voting in primaries often doesn’t allow independent voters to vote. End result a minority of voters makes the selection for the general election.
