One would think he would have the right to go back and check his baggage. He may miss his flight but at least he wouldn’t lose his gun. Wasn’t there a time when this would have been legal.

I have made that same argument in other threads here. When I got to the TSA checkpoint one time many years ago, I realized I forgot to put my knife in my checked bag. The TSA agent stated to go back to the check-in counter and have my bag recalled so I could put my knife in it. I now put my knife in the checked bag before leaving home or the hotel room.

I’ve lost lots of pocket knives to the TSA. Moral: don’t carry expensive knives
