Instead of getting hooked on whatever seems hot, cool, etc on the net spend some time at ranges that will let you shoot various models.

Find what really fits you and that you can shoot accurately.

Keep in mind that as long as it’s a reliable firearm that will go bang every time you pull the trigger, it fits your hands properly, and you can shoot it accurately intuitively (naturally) that’s the gun for you.

This is about life and death, not being cool or impressing people with your cool new gun.

right, dope wasn’t the proper term. i dont plan on telling my parents i even own a gun, nor my friends (it’s for safety, not for showing off). i just meant the aspects of the gun seem really fit for self defense. compact, heavily-loaded, easy to conceal.

There are probably 3 dozen or more models on the market all by top of the line manufacturers that meet the same criteria.

Again, I think you’d be best off visiting some ranges that will allow you to shoot a number of different platforms to find out what actually fits you best and that you can naturally shoot accurately.

I’m still amazed at how many people show up to class or that I see at ranges trying to shoot a gun they cannot even control because it doesn’t fit their hand.

Ask them why they bought it? "So and So said it’s the best XXmm or YZ caliber on the market for self defense according to some guy or gal on the net or in a book/magazine they never met and who never took the five minutes to explain how to properly fit a handgun to your hand.

Sig makes great products, I own some of them and love them but so do a dozen or more other mfg’s .

The best defensive handgun though is the one that fits your hand best, that you can shoot accurately right out of the box with little practice, and that is absolutely reliable.

Don’t worry a whole lot about the rest.
