I prefer German longsword, bastardized with hints of kendo, escrima, and rapier fencing……
I used to carry a Wakizashi next to my center console for general self defense purposes…(and brush axe utility) until my ex wife stole that blade.
Long blades are hard to conceal though, and frankly, even a dagger scares the sheeple if they see it….

In my state it is illegal to conceal a fixed blade. The irony of the law, though, is that folding blades do not have a size limit, except in certain localiities.
